Murtaxa1, 23 Feb 2019Galaxy Fold Is 5G and 4G both..dont mislead people... Samsu... moreNot really. I have a huawei P9 with 2 camera sensors. 1 black and white the other wide angle colour. When it was released over 2 years ago no other phones had 2 cameras. So in a way huawei was the innovator not the imitator. I am looking to upgrade and plan to stick with them. Lets just hope the new ones are as good as what mine is. It also came with a first generation smart watch, huawei watch 1. which still runs like new. In fact with the software upgrades its better than new.

Galaxy Fold Is 5G and 4G both..dont mislead people... Samsung is innovator , Huawei is cheater

Samsung is doing a great job being the first to launch a great product once again. Personally I wouldn’t buy the galaxy fold , first it’s a new first gen product , and second it’s really pricey . Being a experimental product it’s wise to wait a year or two when it’s widely accepted by the mass and by the. Price will be a lot cheaper and more affordable.

The Chinese like to build foldable phones based on conceptual sketch directly while Samsung built the Galaxy Fold based on precise realistic architecture. Just look at the hideous look of Royole FlexPai, Lenovo flexible devices, and Xiaomi's double fold features, totally unrealistic, never think of how our 10 fingers touching the screen. However, I'm curious to see what Huawei can give us.

There is no 5G infrastructure yet so 5G is useless until there is.

Did Huawei develop this on their own or are they one of the illegal buyers of Samsung's blueprints?

5G speedy spy move lol although I like the competition it’s all befits us

I'm looking forward to the Xiaomi foldable. I'm hoping that's the most affordable one!

For now, the Galaxy Fold will be a niche device for rich asses who can afford it. Let them be the guinea pigs. The Note series started off niche too.

I have no intention adding $82+ to my T-Mobile monthly bill to get this. The best solution is to wait for the tech to get better and for the price to get cheaper. They always improve and get cheaper.

I want the Galaxy Fold 2 and future successors to make the outside screen bigger. It looks weird closed with all that top and bottom bezel. Make it thinner. Make it cheaper. Perhaps make a foldable for the Note series.

I'll be all-in if they do all that. For now, don't let me down Xiaomi, Huawei, and all the other Chinese OEMs. South Korea's LG might also surprise us. Two of my all-time favorite smartphones are from LG and were released three years ago.

The downer on the Galaxy Fold is no headphone jack. I hope these other OEMs will still offer it.

Samsung and Huawei are both great, and I don't hate them, I only hate those people who cant appreciate what they are doing, I don't care about the price, I just love that both companies are stepping up the game

Let's not forget that the high end spectrum of gadgets isn't for the average Joe. It's for those who can afford it, and that's that. I only need to mention the original Motorola DynaTAC, which went on sale for $3995 back in 1984. That's close to $10000 in today's money. Depending on where you live, you can buy a new entry level car with that cash, or a more than decent second hand car. Was the DynaTAC worth that kind of cash back in its day? I doubt it. But when you're first to the market with a product, you can charge whatever the hell you want for it. It's when competition arises, with a cheaper and hopefully better product, when things get interesting. Competition is good for us end-users. So I salute Huawei's foldable initiative. And wish Samsung and Apple the best of luck too. Competition keeps innovation alive. Sure, the mobile market will suck for the next couple of years, because we have two technologies competing for prime time, 5G and foldable displays. And that will drive prices up. But what do we mostly use our smartphones for? Multimedia (video content like YouTube, Netflix, and music on Spotify and the sorts), chatting (WhatsApp, Viber, FB Messenger) and web browsing. With the occasional phone call. Regular screens and 4G are more than enough for now. And will be for a long time, unless/until a new form of entertainment will appear, which will require the use of 5G and foldable displays.

Live long and prosper. From a Note9 and briefly (2013-1015) iPhone user.

PS: Don't forget, we are way behind in battery tech in 2019... and there's only that much milliamps you can cram into the small space of a smartphone before the laws of physics and chemistry go no no.
