Although, this is the closest that Samsung has been to Huawei in terms of camera score at least. Samsung still has the edge when it comes to video recording, and even my friends that work in retail, selling Huawei phones say that Mate 20 Pro estabilization is kinda trash. They have one as a daily driver so I just gotta go by their word as I don't have personal experience with Huawei myself. Of course when it comes to night pictures, nothing beats Huawei at the moment.
Just hoping for the best for every brand, as it pushes all brands including the ones we like the most to new feature and real innovation!

Google don't pay any reviewers because they don't really care about smartphones business. They just make them "because other guys do" :). They will never reach smartphones sales highs like Apple, Samsung and Huawei. And Google doesn't really care about it. Hence the low and constantly dropping DxO score.

Mate's 20 Pro huge sensors and advanced Leica optics doesn't stand against "brains" of Pixel 3 for instance. 98% of photos coming out from "just one" Pixel 3 camera are better than from 3-eye overpraised Huawei monster. That's the brutal reality. So many Mate 20 Pro pictures are coming out with focusing issues, washed out / overpolished people's faces and overcontrasted night photos. So I won't be surprised if "inferior" S10e with non-Leica optics is actually a much better shooter. Cheers

I can find ten times as many YouTube bloggers showing why the Note 9 or S9 is a better camera phone than the iPhone. Why? Because that is the general opinion.
The fact stands, there is NOTHING justifying a price tag near 1,500 dollars for a phone with mediocre off-the-shelf flagship components. Absolutely nothing. THIS is why the iPhone X is failing outside the US.

The video recording accounts for half of the overall camera performance and that's where XS excels, but that doesn't mean it sucks for taking still photos. Apart from slight detail smudging(it's still far better than S10 or your Note 9, by the way) and decent but not excellent color accuracy, XS's cameras do a great job. Accurate autofocusing, low noise under any lighting conditions apart from extreme low light, and the most importantly consistently great dynamic range under all lighting conditions thanks to always-on zero shutter lag HDR. Samsung phones are capable of recording high dynamic range but there's a noticeable shutter lag, and the details go quite soft especially around corners when the strongest HDR is used. This seems to be especially the case in S10's camera whose lens quality is really poor even when it's set to F2.4 aperture and where the strongest HDR is used way more often than in Note 9. It's shown in SuperSaf camera comparison as well and you can see it if you jump to 5:40. Grass, bricks, literally everything, textures are all gone.

I'm neither a Samsung or an Apple user so I don't have any reason to "defend" them by lying to you, in fact I only started talking about other phones including iPhone because the other user mentioned them. Now if you're happy with your Note 9 then fine, sure it's a great phone so go ahead and enjoy it. But don't start yapping at every single person whoever doesn't talk bad about iPhone please. Exactly the same thing. I don't know your intention or what phone you use right now, maybe Pixel, Galaxy or Huawei, but if you have time to bash iPhone's camera then you surely want to criticise those phones first since they have a lot more issues regarding the photo/video quality. Now get lost.

If Samsung's next flagship can't beat the existing flagship from other big brands, for sure Huawei, Oppo (and Oneplus), Vivo, Xiaomi, Apple will jump all out this year with something better. Good luck Samesung sales.

Samsung went downhill with its camera since Galaxy S9 and there's no other way to put it, sorry for telling you the truth.
