Lumia 950 XL, 24 Feb 2019Xiaomi is on another level, compared to HMD (also known as ... moreMan, I'm not a Nokia fan, I'm not even a Nokia user (I have a Nokia 1 as a backup but that's it). Nokia only makes phablets nowadays and I value my comfort too highly to use a phablet again. I'm currently using Sony, before that I had an LG, before that I had a Xiaomi, and if Apple makes an SE 2 that might be my next phone. I don't have any brand loyalty, I just choose what fits.
However many people around me have Nokia phones and they literally destroy Xiaomi in terms of both hardware and software quality. When I had a Xiaomi flagship (Mi 5s) the volume buttons were chattering (and it was normal for that model) and the buttons on the back fell off (i and the middle part of m) which is also a common issue. And that's a flagship that cost 500 dollars or something like that.
The firmware was a cheap iOS clone, but uglier (and I couldn't fix that with themes) and less comfortable to use than either iOS or Android. It was quite buggy as well, and it stole my photos (and perhaps other data) even though I didn't allow it. So the Xiaomi spyware has affected me directly.
I'm not saying no one should buy a Xiaomi phone, the A series are cheap and pretty nice (and I recommend them alongside with Nokia), but in general if you buy a MIUI model you get nice hardware for cheap but you pay with quality and your time that you spend tinkering MIUI or flashing an alternative firmware.

Xiaomi belongs to cheap high specked phones, Nokia to quality less specked phones. Both have their own customer space though! And it is good that we have different phone available!

Xiaomi have MIUI (500+ milions of users world wide), Xiaomi have phones in androidone program (Mi A1 was there, before HMD any phone), Xiaomi have Android Go device with OWN (again) launcher - Mint launcher. What Nokia have? They preinstall on all phones Launcher 3, with modif cokor icons (blue is the great color). And abouy MIUI and 'ads' there is a option, it says "recomandation off", simple as that. Im glad to see at least 2-3 fans of those HMD phones, but its weird you dont know that HMD is the one who preinstall (mistake, not HMD, but Foxconn) spyware to their servers, you want belive, in CHINA :]
Dont get me wrong Nokia is still fin, but..
You sould take look on xda dev for more info, or how to rid of spyware, even in barebones skin, launcher 3 on all Nokia devices.
This is no anymore Nokia, but if you're real fan, take a look in Alcatel phones (because Real Nokia is owner)..

Can't you just be happy for whatever you have and find the best option for yourselves? Brand loyalty is so sadly soulless and decadent.

Also didn't brands start following bezelless trend after mi mix in 2016? who is the follower there?
Anyone can add 100 cameras on back of the phones, where is the innovation in that?

But to invent hardware and software to get 5 cameras to work together to try to make a picture of better quality than everyone else ...
Yes. This is an innovation for smartphones.
And until the end of the year, everyone starts producing 5-6-7 camera phones, then Nokia will have invented something else.
Then we will see who is the leader and who just follows

If u have Nokia that doesn't mean that is best in the world. Also u can't compare some 200€ fones with 400-500 € from Nokia. Learn to listen some other opinion. Don't be frustrated.
