No use it is not released in of its previous generation mobiles in India. I pity Xiaomi for missing the premium segment line up.

Will there be also a Mi Mix 3S variant, like the upgraded Mi Mix 2S from last year? Or is this the only update the 5G one, until Mix 4? Thanks.

Right now, you just need to evaluate what you really need against you want. As for what the market demands, Xiaomi is throwing in phones for every each. If you can't find what you need on the high end, try the lower part of the spectrum, there's always something down there.

As I see through things, every high-end Xiaomi phones are luxury phones IMO (except Poco, if people are too specific about that). The build, the feel, the materials and the looks (though somewhat debatable, as Xiaomi most of the time uses old designs from different high end phones, slapped in to one) are classy even though it's cheap. Obviously there are trade-offs, which is what the most people deem necessary. In this case, still no headphone jack, no SD card slot, smaller battery (compared to other brands, even though it did get an increase), No IP rating, and the list goes on. In short, these phones' target market are generally classy people.

But the problem I consider (as a humanist, a common one for us all) is with the general direction of where the whole industry is heading.

Removal of the IR: "feature" no one asked for
Removal of the jack: "feature" no one asked for
Notch: "feature" no one asked for
Adding 5G: a thing under fiery debate and once again unasked for. (Also for this to work it needs so much work and investments), you'd need to also... PAY MORE... in monthly plans.
Other gimmicky trash that barely work: "features" no one asked for
                Devs: Yeah, let's do these!
                People: Fix bugs?
                Devs: *sleep*

Love the future. Pay more, get less

. Xiaomi briefly showed a slide with the 5G Mi Mix 3’s specifications on stage, showing that the upgraded model will have a larger 3,800mAh battery.

I thought the price would shoot up to 50% more just like that of the tutti-frutti company, but no. Good job.

How about improving the battery lifetime with a bigger battery instead of introducing a new feature that's not fully ready in most areas.
