I know Samsung does license some of Sony's camera tech (as does every other company in every other industries in the world) but I doubt it's a complete copy. To have tried both the ISOCELL and the IMX versions of the S9, I did notice quite a difference in image quality

          Sony wants to do 21:9 instead of fragile foldable phones.
          It's not their fault that their products are superior to others anyway. And f*** stupid screen cutouts.
          The XZ4 and Nokia 9 are the best-looking phones out right now, period. Anything with a screen cutout is as horrendous as having a dead pixel on the display, unless of course you're used to have such a phone with that display.
          Now let's talk about performance. Oh wait, XZ4 reaches over 12K multi-core scores in GeekBench, right? LMAO

            Then Samsung pays Sony Semicon to make an exmor version of their isocell.
            Versions are exynos/isocell and snapdragon/exmor rs ....

            Samsung uses it just fpr 960fps HD. While Sony uses for Predective Capture, anti-distortion shutter, less rolling shutter and 4K HDR HIgh Log Gamma.

                  Also you must understand something. Sony sells components. If someone is buying a component they made, you still say it's copying?
                  By that logic, Sony copied everyone because all their components were made by someone else (except the cameras, because they sell sensors).

                      The last time Sony felt relevant in the smartphone industry was 5 years ago with the Xperia Z3/Z3 Compact.

                      Sony is basically a joke in mobile like HTC and even LG have become. And this is coming from a big PlayStation fanboy. Real innovation is coming from Samsung and the Chinese OEMs like Huawei and Oppo.

                      The hottest mobiles of this year is going to cost us over two grand. And foldables still are in their infancy. Beta stages. But if you ignore the foldables for now, you're left with a stagnant industry with the same ol' same ol' products from last year.

If you want accurate sRGB reproduction, Basic is the display mode for you (average DeltaE of 1.7), AdobeRGB is represented truthfully in AMOLED Photo (average DeltaE of 1.5), while AMOLED Cinema stays true to the P3 color space to the tune of an average DeltaE of 1.2.

                              Sony's mobile division have been a joke for the last decade. Their PlayStation brand has been great to me though.

                              Mobile: Google. Huawei. LG fell off.
                              Video games: Sony. Nintendo. No to Microsoft.
                              Televisions/appliances: LG. Samsung.

                              Both the Samsung Galaxy Fold & Huawei Mate X are the most revolutionary mobiles announced so far. The rest look boring.
