25 February 2019
It is just a demo unit; production will be launched only if there is enough interest.

"...Brian Shen asked in his post “how much do you really want such a device”, and we are asking you the same ..."

    I don't!

Only after at least 2 generations and top notch specs with 6" at least folded and 12" opened

Definitely not it is stupid design, leaving left side of the screen unprotected. So far Fold is the best option if you want to get foldable device

Baykko, 26 Feb 2019While I get where you are coming from, you are making a bun... moreWe dont know a thing? Only you. This is why we update frequently. A bunch of hands on video is available on youtube. How could you not know? Not my assumption. Real facts. Built is not premium. Mostly plastic or polycarbonate material. Samsung all metal and glass minus the flexible display. Mate X resist damage how? They using the same flexible BOE display like in the Flexpai. Tell me and everyone in the internet Flexpai display look premium, I dare you. I never mentioned anything about using a case.

we dont know a thing about the Mate X other than it s looks and some internal components. How do you know the device isnt as premium as the galaxy? how do you know the screen cannot resists damage? how do you know Huawei isnt launching a case that can perfectly work with this phone? I know nothing of that either
that is why we must SHUT UP AND WAIT.

Huawei stole Oppo's design and brought it to market before Oppo was done developing it just to say they can do what Samsung did. Now Oppo had to show it's prototype (Huawei's final product) else people will think Oppo copied it. In the videos of the Mate X one can see the crease where the screen bends when it is open and an uneven display. Also the photos of the demo unit was all scratched up, probably while escaping with it from Oppo's factory.

Anonymous, 25 Feb 2019The Galaxy Fold is an ugly piece of trash with a tiny front... moreThat $2600 toy vs all premium built, $600 less with durability and portability in hands. It even have 3 extra cameras than Huawei and still selling way less. Tough sales for Huawei. I kept being reminded of Flexpai just looking at that Mate X. Who exactly trashy here? Huawei fails to consider the most basic thing; screen durability. It don't even have the seamless UI built for foldable. In the long run user experience also count. We not debating only about design here. How do you imagine yourself using this device as daily driver? You probably end up using it only in phone mode. Tablet mode look more like a hassle and have nothing more to offer. I mean it literally just 1.4 inches bigger in tablet mode. What is that 8 inches tablet mode can do better than the 6.6 inches mode? Don't make me laugh. The aspect ratio not even optimized for apps.

Xperia all the way, 25 Feb 2019Thank god Chinese exist. In three to four years these fold... moreAt what cost to durability though

Anonymous, 25 Feb 2019The Galaxy Fold is an ugly piece of trash with a tiny front... moreWhy? Becaue the fold is alot more durable.

Samsung was going to make the phone fold outward too same as the Mate X but they decided to fold inwards to make it more stronger and reliable.

Has the latest CPU's which are better than the Kirin 980.
Samsungs UI will be better and make use of the screen estate.

                            Also costs $600 less.

People should stop saying this company copied this company, it’s doesn’t matter who copies who, what matter is the one that brings the best product

I think Huawei has started a trend in foldable phone. More phones besides Oppo are likely to follow this trend. But Xiaomi has an interesting variation on the theme. Let's wait and see because Xiaomi can sell one at much lower price.

Just look how wide these phones are ... where will u fit them .. in your undies ??? .... Screen outside means easy damages on your "BIG SCREEN" .... lol .. samsung is smart enough to protect the big screen by giving additional screen for simple tasks. samsung fold looks way more premium when compared to this trash ugly phones !! .. and samsung fold do not have the ugly wrinkle lines at center as huawei fold does !!!
