OnePlus at MWC: the 5G phone was teased, it has a 21:9 screen

25 February 2019
The prototype was encased in an installation that completely obscured the rest of the phone, but that aspect ratio is hard to miss.

Anonymous, 25 Feb 2019Higher frequency=shorter waves=more antennas and power=more... morePerhaps you should research radiation...

Smartphones emit Non-Ionizing Radiation, this is not linked to cancer as multiple studies have showed (with the exception of heating devices like microwaves).

The radiation you are thinking of is Ionizing Radiation, which is the kind you are exposed to when you get your dental x-rays, fly in an airplane, or even when you eat a banana (potassium contains Ionizing Radiation).

Sony Xperia FOREVER, 25 Feb 2019you will see, the other companies will all follow the leade... moreWell I hope for Sony's sake that it's fans buy the Sony Xperia 1 with it's 21:9 AR, but for the rest of us it's too tall & skinny @ 167 x 72 x 8.2 mm (6.57 x 2.83 x 0.32 in).
Personally I like phones to be minimum width of 3" (76.2mm).

I'm pretty sure it's being misinterpreted. I don't see OP going with that ridiculous 21:9 ratio.

Why will OnePlus go this route. Men O men..i thought 18+:9AR screens were already too long and narrow and with 21:9 we are actually entering remote control territory.
Personally 16:9AR or 17:9AR is acceptable and grudgingly will accept 18:9AR but with 21+:9AR, that is just too narrow n elongated. I don't care how good an OEMs phone is, I Will Not go for a 21:9 aspect ratio phone.
I will gladly welcome any (16:9 or 17:9AR) phone with a 6.0"--6.4" oled screen with minimal bezels, Huge 4000+ battery with fast charging, very good Camera, 6-8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage plus SD card, headphone jack etc. Someone, anyone..OEMs pls pls pls 👃🤔😊

Mr Magma, 25 Feb 2019You have S10 and S10e to choose from There still appears to be a number of devices having the 18.5:9 ratio. Why is that not good enough? Why make the phone taller than it has to be?

What he said is totally logical. I won't say that only 5G impacts heavily on our health alone since all wireless networks/equipments do. But 5G is proved by scientists that it'll be the most notorious one.
That's believable, since we didn't hear of cancer back before the '90s like we do today.

Companies don't listen to the user feedback they build whatever they want not what user want.
For example - Notch, headphone jack, aspect ratios, except few most of them use less capacity batteries.
I am not writing the whole sentence people already knows what they want and what manufacturers are implementing, I'm just pointing out the key words.

Great for movies and multitasking. Maybe these phones too I believe the developers will maximize the OS and UI to use this aspect ratio at it's fullest.
