Yesterday's video means nothing to me I never believe in phone bending videos of YouTubers
I am an engineering student and I know how the bending test is carried out . Bending tests are carried out in labs with machines like UTM by applying right amount of force according to material used .
How do that guy know how much amount of force he is applying bare handed is he some kind of cyborg ?....lol
It doesn't make any sense.
I think Lot of Indians are commenting here should be of engineering background what do you think guys?

Thing is that older Redmis were made of aluminium mostly. So their inner structure could be weak, as they in fact were "exoskeleton" devices ;-)
New ones are glass ones (which - as they don't support wireless charging - is bad thing IMHO; they don't seem to be much more attractive visually), much more fragile. Too bad Xiaomi made them so weak. Metal frame can't be that expensive...

I'm not sure, if is there any truth to that, but it's possible. If so, nothing has changed hardware-wise. Change han taken place only in marketing department.

First thing first, "never sold as "rugged phone"", sure.
But problem being, its now a member of jerrys bent hall of shame which only have less than a dozen member despite over 100 phone he tested.
That means this note 7 is structurally weaker than 90% phones out there. That is a cause for concern.
I am xiaomi user btw, used note 3 pro and now use note 5 ai.
I'm looking forward the review of this phone as i may need to give this phone to my father and i need a new one.
Personally i don't worry much on this test result but f**k no, i'm not going to defend shoddy construction especially after note 5/6 pass various bend test.
That being said, there is a rumor for Redmi flagship so i may wait for awhile before buying this note 7 pro to ensure i don't get dissapointed like when i bought this phone and shortly after pocophone is announced.

I wish it had NFC, at leas for Western markets. It would make RN7P a truly perfect midranger (OK, an OIS would be a nice addition too, but I find NFC more useful).

Redmi note 7 was never sold as "bend-proof", it always been used in tests to hit another things or let it fall to the ground. They advertised only the strength of glass, right? And seriously, who will be bending his phone at that level? Is this a rugged phone or expensive flagship?
Just because a budget phone couldn't pass the bend test, gorilla Glass 5 on front and back means nothing?

All I wanted was an amoled panel.
But still, SD675 at 14,000 is just amazing.
I still hope xiaomi launched Mi 9se for 20,000 in India.
