Innovation which adds 200 more bucks to the price and noone will buy it same like Samsung galaxy fold :-)

    An inevitable strategy Samsung needed to adopt. Chinese companies first copied Apple and Samsung to lower the significance of the premium phone segment with their low prices, and now that Huawei, Oppo, and Xiaomi are serious threats to their dominance, it only makes sense to use their (that is Samsung) moves against them (Chinese brands) to curb said threat.

              we've entered the more interesting era of smartphone development, kind of repeating the period when manufacturers were all comming up with different solutions and designs... i can only try to think of the way phones are gonna look in 2020

I agree if not 'A' brands looks very similar, but nowadays all the models looks the same with their notches and scanners on the back(by the way, Samsung's fingerprints scanner on the side inside power button could be a nice specific feature). Also, the innovative design should be used by A brands first, not the opposite.

                          And just like that, durability takes a huge hit. Hoping the A80 isn't like that, but seems it's either a hole, a notch, a slider or last year's devices.

                          Last year sounds good. And it's cheaper. Nothing you'll miss out.

                              These Pop-up cameras are a joke. Sliding mechanism also, imagine if sand grains gets caught between those mechanisms, if will scratch the glass like hell.
                              The IP rating is comprimised. I rather have a tear notch with the selfie camera and not worry that the mechanism will be faulty someday.

                              There is much hype arund the oneplus 7 stating it might come with a popup camera and that's one reason for me to stay with the 5T just a bit longer until there's a way to implement a camera under the screen, hiding the camera module completely

                                Just make the main camera flipable, when fliped-up it's selfie camera, when fliped-down it's photographic camera and can keep all these tele wide cameras.
