27 December, 2011
The company came to this decision after being put under pressure from disappointed device owners.

Maybe its like some weird strategy to see how many people still use their SGS1 and SG Tab? By listening to our annoyance they get a rough figure of how many are out there in the wild.

SGS 2 will probably have something like this in the near future

This excuse that the smartphone does not support the new update is not true fisherman! He has enough hardware to do so. And honestly, one of the excuses is that it runs with the TouchWiz 3.0, well, I would be with the Galaxy S TouchWiz without any, would be pure software, just activate the form to receive and send messages as in comic books and how he makes connections with swipe gestures, sliding to the left or right swipe to the keyboard and alphanumeric otherwise would be pure. * Brazil!

[deleted post]Learn what is the right for "pro-choice" means unless what you've posted were mere /sarcasm. It doesn't matter how high or low people's payscale are, NO ONE should be forced to buy and replace products UNLESS if there's ample evidence that said products are totally obsolete rendering updates a near impossibility.

Xiaomi, a relatively new Chinese startup had just hinted that its Mi One phone will be getting ICS in Jan '12. And these guys are really really new at this game.

Yet we have the global top 3 Android device partners far larger, successful and obviously way more resourceful FAILING to get the goods out of the freezer on a timely manner.

Just like gingerbread before it, ice cream sandwich brings 0 new features to the platform. Come to think of it, apart from NFC (which isn't available on 99% of handsets) android hasn't given its loyal fanboy devotees anything new in over 18 months.

              Which OS is outdated again???

Let me guess, they will throw a line something like this

"Its unfortunate that in spite of painstaking re-assessment for these two devices, we regret to inform you that both Galaxy S and Galaxy tab 7.0 wont make the cut due to technical issues. In line with this unfortunate event, we will launch more ICS-ready smartphones in 2012 that are within mid-range budget. We do hope you will still continue to support us."

I think that LG's decision about giving ICS to their devices - especially Optimus Black, which is quite similar to Galaxy S - was important to Samsung. It's good that the manufacturers speed up each other.

Come on Sammy, you get lot of sell from those device, release ICS for those wont hurt.
