Google has disabled Google Photos casting to Android TV in light of major bug

A user saw strangers listed in their account as sources for Google Photos Ambient Mode screensaver.

Just installed a new TCL 5-Series S546 with Google. I'm a photographer and loved being able to use my Chromecast dongle on my previous Samsung TV to cycle my pics in Google photos. Figured the new TCL with Chromecast built-in would do the same. After long chat discussions with both TCL and Google support, still no joy. Plugged the original Chromecast Gen. 1 dongle into an HDMI port on the new TCL TV and that works great. Happy to know the problem is with Google, not me. Thanks for posting this new item which explains what's going on. Hope they can fix it and roll out an update.

            just a few minutes my friend show me that his screen saver photo changed from stock to a afro american guy selfie.. and my friend is white lol so he got confused. happend in sony xz premium. google u should get sue

                    Man thats strange.
                    Its like seeing ghost in your phone when you for example use viber video to call your girlfriend but on the other side you see a complete different person.
