Just look at older Redmi devices, Redmi 3... morei LOVE my redmi 4X i'm still using one for my daily driver. it's good enough for phone call and messaging, thicc, metal build, and have enough juice to last you for the whole day and more. was eyeing this redmi 7 but if it's going to be at the size of the note... idk, i have second thought now lol. and SD632 isn't much better anyway.

LOL it's a size of Note. Xiaomi desperately wants to try HTC way. Especially considering recent news on raise of Xiaomi prices.

Redmi 7, giant plastic phone, with 8.9mm thickness, and 4000mAh battery..
But i heard that will be there Redmi 7 Pro (in design, similar to Redmi 6 Pro and in SCREEN size) 5.84".. So who knows, but this phone is not worth more than 80-100$... (Note 7 is way better in build, bezells, proceasor for 150-160$ or €..

nearly everything has been copied from ZF M2,
it took 4-5 months for Showme lol
but the ASUS M2 (ZB633KL, 632 in India!) still has
- better metal build,
- front flash,
- well placed color notification LED,
- dedicated mSD-Slot,
- Europe got an upgraded 32GB version with 4 GB of RAM,
- stock Android (if sby like that),
and we will see, after Redmi 7 is launched.

In fact, I was hoping for complete opposite: keep all internals, only shrink display to a more compact size (5.8-5.9"). That would be perfect. I don't want 6+ inches screen.

But this could have been done by having a smaller screen, single camera, a 4xx processor, avoiding the gimmicks and delivering usability. USB C has many advantages and is future ready. And for someone hungry or barely making it, a phone itself is going to be the last thing in that person's mind.
