However, both Nokia and Ericsson they should thank to Trump for kicking Chinese manufacturers from the 5G race not only from America, but from other countries too. This means more orders for European manufacturers.

I work in tech, and we follow trends very closely. 99% of claimed AI in today's day an age is nothing but a predetermined set of algorithms. There's very little true AI in development, and it doesn't affect any of us just yet. Given a decade, maybe it will begin to threaten some industries.
It is just like cloud was in early 2000s. Everything was named cloud, but barely anything actually resembled the cloud vision.

The case here is that upper management at Nokia has made a multitude of bad decisions, and regular folks suffer because of that. I'm sure not a single upper level manager is going to be laid off as part of this "cost savings" plan. Heck, cutting down a CEO pay would save a humongous amount of $$$

I find the job cuts happening in the first place to be sad...

Sad indeed, the only good thing is that they will cut fewer jobs than expected, as far as you can interpret is as a 'good thing' in this case.
