Huawei  P30 Pro zoom camera tested in leaked camera samples

The P30 Pro will reportedly feature a 5x optical zoom camera that can get even closer with digital zoom.

Among all the skins in the market, I support Oneplus's Oxygen OS, though Google's stock android seems to be the sickliest IMO.

    At pixel level these photo's look awful. Sure the circumstances are challenging but of all the shots only the normal shot (gsmarena_002.jpg) is really good. The whites are completely blown-out but that's to be expected. The noise levels are quite good though.

    The other photo's are crap. They look more like digital zoom then optical zoom to me. The shot of the 2 singers (gsmarena_004.jpg) and the zoomed version (gsmarena_005.jpg) just look horrible.

    Also the EXIF data is conveniently removed. Why?

            Actually it's good to have a phone that can zoom quite far if you want to capture something far away, a phone with a good zoom is still nonetheless better than one without. If you really think the zoom is bad then don't use it, there's definitely more to this phone than the zoom. Knowing Huawei they will probably improve the zoom before the phone releases or in future models.

              So zooming into photos is the next trend after portraits bokeh shots? I don't find zooming in much useful at all. Prefer to have ultra wide angle shots like S10s than zooms.

                  So the 10x figure is just a misleading advertising lie, typical for Huawei.
                  Digital zoom DOES NOT, AND SHOULD NOT COUNT.

Also phones cameras are that good. Now they are replacing point and shoot compacts. And rivaling sub £400 cameras. Nobody saying smartphone cameras are better than DSLR cameras but the lines are getting closer.

                        These look smart. And I cant wait to the launch. I have a P20 pro and its stunning camera Phone. But there is always negative people in the world. Everyone has a right to an opinion. I personally love products. Quality performance and pricing all brilliant. Roll on 26th come on Huawei show the world how to make a another amazing cameraphone.

                          It is confirmed that the P30 Pro has 10x optical 'zoom'. Don't know why gsmarena mentions 5x as heared by rumors when leaked images show that the zoomrange is 10x...

Always a use for phone camera because it is always with you.

                                storemandan, 14 Mar 2019The zoom samples really aren't that good, but the hype is t... moreAt the end of the day, honestly, it doesn't really matter who has a not-so-noticeable better quality in pictures...these are phones, if a person is THAT serious about photography, they'd be using a legit camera and not their phones.
                                The whole zoom thing just sounds like the next fad that at the end of the day 5-15% of the user-base will ever make use of...it IS cool to have I guess, but general camera quality should be the selling point, not this.

                                  The zoom samples really aren't that good, but the hype is that there gonna be the best, i've compared them to oppo 10 x zoom and there nothing like. All we can do is wait until there properly released and reviewed to see what there gonna be like for real.
                                  Oppo came up with the 10x zoom and its supposed to be lossless which it does look good but i don't understand huawei releasing the same zoom but only 5x opitcal and 5x digital??
                                  No one uses digital zoom unless you pinch to zoom on your screen.

                                        regs, 14 Mar 2019Try something more originalI am not a fan of Huawei, but it is unfair to claim Huawei steal all techs from Samsung or American firms. If making phone with similar looks with previous one is guilty, most manufacturers are. Did anyone remember the lawsuit between Apple and Samsung in the past few years?
                                        However, I do agree that software of Huawei is not good enough, comparing those of Apple or Samsung.
