to the apple guy... Your iphone was probably the biggest flop we have ever seen on this side of the world... we had actuall set up call centres all over the uk to deal with the alleged queues asking for iphone.. most of them were shut down within 15 mins when the call volume didnt reach 5% of what we thought it would. Im working for o2, and to be honest, the iphone sucks. its okay if you want a heavy duty internet phone... Unfortunatly this is not what the u.k. wants... maybe next time apple will make 2nd gen iphone with some more functinality. like the most popular thing used on a phone.....BLUETOOTH for a start...

Actually only symbian, apple & MS are the one's to be afraid. The Open Handset Alliance consists of Samsung, Motorola, LG & HTC! There are big players like intel, nvidia & google! For the full list see http://www.openhandsetalliance.com/oha_members.html

This could mean great news for us! Coz symbian will have to relex it's signing process and open up more APIs. But still I personally think it's very hard to displace Symbian. Mainly B'coz Nokia supports it. Even if the API is impressive, the software and HARDWARE combined, cant be as impressive as Nokia's phones.

This is similar to why Apple's user experience is better than a PC. Both hardware & software are made by a single company...

Let us wait and watch :)

I think that google should have also consulted sonyericsson and nokia and not just the other four companies which include motorola and samsung.

Open source gives flexibility to the user. Having such an OS will enable the users to customize their thing so beautifully. And if it's linux based... WOW ,, that's gonna be something. 4 all those Linux haters, Linux looks boring at d beginning, but, as an example, install compiz fusion n u'll see that that it looks better than mac n Win combined!
