Most of the extra RAM in a phone is just caching backgrounded apps for couple-of-seconds quicker re-launches.

16GB is urgently needed. Even then, 32GB or 64GB is needed for future proofing. However, we also need much faster phones. 8K video capture and future games will need lots of power. 5nm chipset manufacturing process is also urgently needed. We want fast not slow!

Every single device and software is requiring more and more power and data processing and unless those things can be 100% fully optimized then we need more ram. Imo, 16GB would surely suffice but I wouldn't mind future-proofing myself with 32GB's... let alone go straight for the 64GB's just so it can match my 64-bit cpu and operating system architecture only if I had the right resources...
And by the way you're wrong, ALL technologies ARE beneficial as they were created for a purpose - thing is they only have to be used the right way...

Almost as if people are running actual VMs on their phones (I sure as hell would like to know what for if they do?) and betting my 2 acres that 90% of the market has no clue what a VM is.
