Microsoft adds DirectX 12 support on Windows 7

This is really good news direct x 12 for windows 7 but the catch will be finding the drivers and download & install them i know what a nightmale microsoft is too work with blocking me or just adding a Difficulty Curve too what should be a simple task yet another way people have too send the pc or laptop too a private store too fix a expensive maintenance problem which is always the case which i try the best i can too avoid
As i have explaned not everyone understand how annoying it is for some people which does don't like working on repare there older systems it's actually true i really don't even like windows 7 either just stuck using it because of the programs just won't work on newer os for me i just can't find a way around the problom
Warranties of software and hardware just as much of a problom as well i am sure microsoft is still making windows keys as it is profitable just mean because makes customers pay extra just for a system they know is just going break down and go wrong by design i know it is done on purpose as well

A simple reason for using win7 for gaming (for titles that still support it) is the wide margin of system resources occupied by the OS between win 7 and 10,win 10 may be quicker in normal use but that comes at a cost of more RAM usage and CPU usage, resources which could otherwise have been available to the game.

This may be great news for those 6 people who are still on Windows 7, but it just adds to the fragmentation. I think they should just drop Windows 7 altogether and propose everyone to move on to Windows 10.

This is not real full dx12, it is software wrapper that allows game developer t make easier translation of its existing dx12 game so that it can run above win7. It does not allow any normal dx12 to run in win7. It always needs a quite bit of tweaking, but less than making pure dx11 version of the game.

I have a laptop with minimum specs to run basically
acer aspire ES-1 it is a dual core 1.4gz and 2gb of ddr3 ram
barely running w10 it came with w8
few months ago I tried to install w7 on it and I was able to successfully do it..
wow was blazing fast for the hardware it has .. but .. butt ..... I got an issue with the internet connection
I was unable to access internet over Wi-Fi / cable due to
the options for enable / disable internet access was not .
what can I do in this scenario im still thinking in downgrade to w7

This is not dx12 this is DX 12 emulation for one game, later maybe one or two more so that They run above old API...

I'm staying with my 8.1 pro.. As stable and solid as win 7.. But faster and as modern as win 10

what most of you complain I've never seen!
yes win10 maybe not be complete but it is really good!
also there are ways you can disable auto update and other things
someone mentioned groove music, hell yeah i agree with you!
but back to article topic: win 7 hardly could support DX11 and that support was at it's lowest api which is api 1 as if you check in diagnostic tool you'll see DX11_1
so how DX12 would play, I don't know!

Windows 10 is awful. It's been in development for 4 years and still NO SIGNS of improvement. Awful design language (Apple and even most Linux distros like elementary and Solus do it much better), consistent lag, underwhelming new apps like Groove Music to replace the older, but much more feature-filled ones like Windows Media Player, I can go on and on.

Back to 2011 I was running Win7,
Upgraded to 8 once it is available then 8.1
Until Win 10 I upgraded to the latest version of it.
But in The end of 2017 I downgraded back to Win 7 without looking back.
Best OS ever. Doesn't suck up my resources. Opens fast.
And doesn't jam my already slow Internet connection.
It waits for my permission to download updates at the time I want.
And i really don't care about Microsoft store Bloarware!
So I am sticking to Win 7 till it becomes Unsecure anymore.
Not sure How much after Stopping support @ Jan 2020.

Ah wait no I can't. N... moreI was in the same fix as you when I tried to install Windows 7 on my MSi Gaming laptop... I couldn't let Windows 10 connect to the internet...
Few struggles down, I couldn't get the Intel Graphics 630 driver, I googled around until I found a Windows Server 2008 version from a youtube video, which worked perfectly on Windows 7! Then on, GTX 1060 driver was compatible too...
Used zeffy's patch to bypass the updates block for 7th gen i5 processor.
And here I am, no BSOD's, no significant bugs, no critical shutdowns, no privacy intrusion of the big kind, no pesky updates (I updated it upto 2017 updates or so, plus using antivirus now).
Its windows 7 and it just works. Right now, I'm using it only as my gaming laptop, and nothing else...
I just don't trust Microsoft anymore after Win10 & latest Office versions, all calling home all the time.

Well i had windows 7 long time ago now i am using windows 10.
Maybe i am no completely satisfied but over the time i give up on many things.

Windows 7 > Windows 10 B) the world of ads has begun, I wonder what will happen when the VR era income, ads ads junks and so on everything in front of your eyes. I ve seen a video in youtube which somebody represented a a google glass like experience and it was kinda scary, maybe somebody knows it too and can share it here?
