Week 11 in review: all about the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro

Stefan, 17 Mar 2019I had Mate 20 Pro for 5 months and now I have S10+ Huawe... moreI'm pretty sure I can list the similar list of "SOFTWARE" flaws on Galaxy S10 series as well. I'm buying Galaxy S10+ as well as upcoming P30 Pro to replace my old Mate 10 Pro so let's see how EMUI stacks up against One UI or vise versa.

I had Mate 20 Pro for 5 months and now I have S10+
Huawei is top notch at specs BUT software is way way behind Samsung. It is like a proffesional pilot in a Golf GTI ( Samsung) vs a regular driver in a Ferrari (Huawei)
Examples :
1. Allways on display notifications - Huawei's allow only text mesages and missed calls. When Samsung's is so much more versatile - also emails, whatsapp etc etc so many much option. SOFTWARE
2. Contacts - in my job I meet 10-15 new persons daily and make many notes and the S10 allow me to make as many notrs as I want, the Huawei has a limit of nr of words. Is so so so much more intuitive in Samsung and so much more sluggish to use the Huawei one. Also when I use the search option the Samsung is so so much usefull and versatile than the Huawei one. SOFTWARE
3. The EDGE side. At S6 edge and S7 edge was bad, like Mate 20 Pro now. At Note 9 and S10 is way better
4. PANORAMA mode - when shaking hands Samsung somehow pastes the images with no distorsions. Huawei is so worst that I gave up panorama pictures. SOFTWARE
5. PANORAMA mode - dinamic range for such a wide photo in Samsung is automatically adjusting while taking the panorama when Huawei is loosing it. SOFTWARE
6. PANORAMA mode - Samsung can do it with wide angle lens and can capture so much more image. Huawei is doing it ONLY with standard lens and that panoramas are so so bad. SOFTWARE
7. With Google camera, and the variable 1.5 apperture of S10, the night shots are better than the Mate 20 Pro ones. SOFTWARE
8. Night shots in S10 is like regular photo and can capture smth moving. The Mate 20 Pro is great ONLY IN STILL IMAGES and requires 5 seconds hold yourhand still.... SOFTWARE
9. The entire ONEUI is so much more usefull, more intuitive and responsive than the EMUI that, in comparison, is so sluggish and non intuitive. SOFTWARE
10. DINAMIC RANGE in daylight with sun and shaddows are way way better in S10. SOFTWARE
11. Video STEADY MODE is addictive. SOFTWARE
12. PICTURES in call log. So so usefull in S10. Huawei can'tdo it. SOFTWARE
13. Phone caller - swipe right call, swipe left text message. SOFTWARE
14. S10 Zoom 2x vs Huawei 3x. 90% of the zoom shots I need 2x zoom. When taking zoom pictures with Mate 20 Pro they have 3x and I zoom in to 2x. Somehow Samsung knew what I really need. Not to mention that at Samsung 2x is optical. At Huawei only 3x is optical and the 2x is partially optical partial digital
15. At S10 ALL CAMERAS ARE THE SAME LEVEL. At Mate 20 Pro the standard is the best. The zoom one is 90% of the standard one. And the ultrawide one 80% of the standard quality. Even the dinamic range and even the colours are different between lenses. At S10 they are all exactly THE SAME. SOFTWARE again
I only had Samsungs S2, 4, 7, 8 and Note 1,2,3,4. And Lg V30 ( extremely fabulous value for money). Even Lg software was way better than Huawei's.
The overall feeling is like THE OPPOSITE of Pixel or One+ approach that don't have the best hardware but take the best out of it. Huawei has great hardware but weaker implementation of it
