Hard no

I doubt they will make their iOS mfi compatible compulsory, therefore , same again, touch screen gaming lacks the tactile feedback and precision of physical controller which the Google stadia has, the problem is that they expect to charge subscription fee on top of this, expect around usd 30 like Nintendo does for their online function and subscribed games, but I doubt it will have any longevity or value for money which Sony Playstation plus and Microsoft gold for game has.

Then came Netflix, and due to its reasonable monthly charge (1 or 2 traditional rentals), people got on board with a subscription model. And this was in the days of physical media mailed back and forth.

Trying to milk more money from their dwindling customer base. May it dwindle some more.

Kangal, 25 Mar 2019You're right. Apple needs to make MFi Controllers mandator... moreI must off ignored the systemically issues with my PlayStation 4 pro for the last 2 and half years, PlayStation 4 has the most polished games which are genre defining in terms of gameplay and critically acclaim, just last year, with god of war, Spiderman, dragon quest xi, kuni no no 2 relevant kingdom, yakuza 6, Tetris effect and Dragon ball z fighters are the polished gems which define state of art gaming.

I doubt we see any apple arcade gems and it will be crippled by the touchscreen only controls, maybe they will have an exclusive candy crush which probably fits their target market or try to showcase infinity blade as their supposed killer app

For people that work by gaming, this could be ok.

But from my pov, gaming is something you do on your free time, and makes you fun. Pay once and do it later. Buy paying monthly, you NEED to play it because you have paid it.

Apple needs to make MFi Controllers mandatory to developers to get benefits. The Apps are already polished for the products, and aren't full of bugs and large updates like you see in Android/Windows/PS4 platforms. The consumer shouldn't have to pay much for this service (think Spotify Premium). And while the ability to play this on iPods, iPhones, iPads, iLaptops, iMacs, and iTV's is great.... the entire ecosystem (and accessories) is too expensive for people to buy into, doubly-so to people that live outside the USA.

And the problem with a bad pricing, is that it alienates your products from the market (eg/ Apple TV isn't preinstalled inside the latest new SONY TV units). And it makes consumers skip purchasing your product for something that is equally expensive (eg/ PS4 instead of Apple TV).

For those reasons, this thing is going to be flop (or at least be restricted).

Add some AAA games from big publishers and then we'd talk.

Lolol why pay to play mobile kids games when PC games are real life movie 4k quality

Google Stadia.seems more interesting as you can stream AAA games directly on your phone

                        Gaming with apple funny.
Playing one hour on their tiny batteries in cell phone and then charging it for 4 hours really nice kind of a joke.

On a sidenote though... I got a feeling it'll be priced the same as Apple music. Just my intuition but maybe it's just me.

Hmm looks almost between ok and meh, i think it lacks way more ambition like expanding to other platform like PC and to use streaming on "AAA games" from big publishers. Very modest proposition coming from Apple in my opinion.
