By the time a 5G version arrives the 4G price will have dropped and the 5G version will launch at the same price as the 4G
Combining this with article the BOTH Samsung and Qualcomm won't be selling 5G Soc to Apple, Samsung nay use the launch date of the Apple 4G iPhone 09/12/2019 just to let Apple followers know 5G foldable phone...
You know this a good tactic as iPhone users are only happy when they spend thousands

Fayth, 26 Mar 2019rather wait for 2-5 years, for this tech to be more matureMan back in 2011 Kyocerra made Echo this was first foldable dual screen phone.
Samsung galaxy fold was next since then.
Both were impressive and impressing because everybody believed its something new.
Meizu zero was impressive and failed. This going to ends same way.
Big hype around but when comes to sales not many people will buy a folding brick. And thus as project Tango which went onto 4 devices total this hype will die and people will return to old phones they loved to have.

As much as I would like this device, i just cant justify spending €2k on a first gen completely new tech, both this and the huawai mate x (even more expensive at €2.6k) both clearly are cool devices but both also have big flaws in their screens as both have shown with the crease, i suspect this wont be a problem that can be fixed by the next gen, my guess would be 3rd gen for the first truely foldable device without a crease, and also cost comes down once more manufacturers are producing these types of devices, however, once done correctly i think this will be the next major smartphone evolution much the same way we went from candybar to touchscreen

When 5G will be completly ready, there will be a lot of different foldable phones in the market and better than this Samsung model.
