Redmi note 5 Pro is with SD636 and it's in project treble cpu that sd625 isnt. I got updated every month till last time i had in December security update from January update and then was longer break on updates and now something week ago or so i got update for security update or March. That was actually surprise as they updated every time with one month old security update. I have used redmi note 5 Ai for something 10 months by now and i didnt buy it for the reason to get updated. I bought if for good specs at the time for 170 euro and i am still very happy with the phone. I have not got updated so much on any of the android phones i have ever had as i have got from this and and only in 10 months. Now there is even a chance that i soon get even Pie on my phone.

Luxor, 26 Mar 2019Didn't this phone came earlier than max pro m1? Just gettin... moreRedmi note 5 Pro isnt android one phone while the pro M1 is a android one phone from Asus. The good news about this is that isnt a android one phone and it gets to android Pie.
Just so you know Redmi Note 7 Pro is Indian version of the phone and at first it come out for sale with Android 7 that got updated to android 8. The redmi note 5 AI that is global and China version come out of the box with android 8

I guess I was one of those people that got fooled by the saying "Xiaomi is good with MIUI updates...."

nothing useful, maybe some new bugs
the camera app is not receiving any update/new setting etc, the "ai" was a marketing lie

Justphone, 26 Mar 2019I don't see the usefulness of dark mode for a phone using l... moreBlack or Dark mode looks cool in Night N it didn't affect eyes. I use black theme for every day use. IPS also save battery in black but not as much like Amoled. If full brightness with white colors Amoled consume more power than IPS many times.

I don't see the usefulness of dark mode for a phone using lcd instead of amoled. So no point. I just wish they update the camera app which is i wish the wil included the night mode.
