It doesn't reflect the reality that you're filming.
Hope that s Sony doesn't do the same thing..

Why is this found expensive if this totally kills the need to buy a flagship or upgrade your phone for several years? $700 can save you a lot of money in the long term.

Expensive. I would go for it if it had 60fps in 4k. As of 2019 standards this under powered opposite to expensive tag. For most of the consumers GoPro still makes lot of sense for YouTube. Don't fall for this 1" shit, it doesn't make earth shattering difference in end output.

That's why companies place multiple cameras as decoy to determine other product pricing. 700$ is expensive for generation and second generation and it will be expensive if third generation will pop up in future. Rx100 series is joke. It doesn't justify its price at all so it never sold much.
