I personally went for an a6300 because of the interchangeable lens while having great image quality. If I want to have a macro lens, or a super zoom, I don't need to buy a new camera, just new lenses. Plus, the lenses can be kept in case you buy a new body (say, if I decide to go Full Frame).

For the estimated local price of the P30 series here in the Philippines, around P 45,000 for the non-Pro and around P 66,000, I'd probably just keep my current smartphone and buy a decent compact Digital Camera that also has NFC and WiFi like the Sony RX100 series (likely the Mark IV or V, even the Mark VI is cheaper than the P30 Pro). Sure, I have 2 gadgets to carry but at least the other has a removable battery.

... moreAll that mouthful advantage u listed on S10 compare to P30 are only better on specsheet. In real life, no games & apps can slow Kirin 980 down. Basically u get same gaming experience & apps multitasking in real life compare to S10, but u wont get same camera experience goodies as P30. To me, P30 Pro is a clear winner.
About that HDR10, not sure it has it or not, because previous Mate 20 Pro & Mate 20 has it, needs more confirmation.

Hey guys dont put so much hate on this phone. The Huawei p phones were all meant for photography, and they were meant for photographers or people who like taking photos a lot. If you don't like this phone then wait another 6 months for the Mate 30. Personally I think this phone has the best phone in the market. When it comes to camera Huawei is the main innovator, even though their cameras are made by Leica, Huawei still put in a lot of work and thinking in the camera.

The camera beats the S10 in zoom and lowlight, and the battery beats in life and charging. The S10 does beat it in many areas, but also loses in some. But that's because the phones are made for different people. The S10 is for people who want an all around good phone with little compromise whereas the Huawei is for people who like taking pictures on their smartphones and long battery life. That doesn't make either bad just because they beat each other

Still, don't buy a flagship for the camera. Buy a midrange camera with a midrange phone and you'll make much better pics for cheaper. Most camera makers have a connectivity feature that allows you to take pics from the real camera and get them instantly on your phone, for you to edit, crop, apply a filter and then publish on unsociable media

Sure, it may be best in some areas, but the S10 also gets beat as well. All I'm saying is that it is a great phone that stands with Samsung's best

Slower LTE
No HDR display
Lower resolution display
Weaker processor (GPU and CPU vs the E9810. No match for the SD855, especially GPU)
Proprietary memory expansion which is very expensive
No 4K@60
No HDR video recording
No headphone Jack
Slower WiFi
No Radio
It only has the camera to show for. And the IR blaster. And 40W charging.
