Messages for Web appears on messages.google.com for the first time

The transition is happening from messages.android.com and includes RCS chat settings.

I believe these changes away from the Android moniker will be in preparation for the release of FuchsiaOS. As Fuchsia can run android apps but is not in actuality the android platform I believe Goolge is looking to apply the Google branding to all it's apps and services to make them more universal to all it's products rather than referencing a specific platform.

    Well I'd happily switch to this from facebook messanger if enough people did. As far as privacy goes it will be around the same story, but with Google I at least know they're doing a lot of innovations to make a better society, while all facebook does is updating poop emoji from time to time.
