27 March 2019
This is so far the only device with two folds. The screen remains on the outside.

TJ, 28 Mar 2019Why a phone needs to be folded at all. This is the biggest ... moreAgree , foldable phones are useless. Good thing those are tablets. People prefer tablets over phones due to the larger screen which is why they survived despite the industry wanting them dead long ago. It is the perfect form factor for the consumption of digital info. So companies seems to finally embraced people's need and will do away with the "phone" altogether (finally!).

No more tiny 3.5 inch screen, no more awkward in-between phase where it is still not a tablet, nor a real phone (does not fit in the pocket).

Finally the true thing, tablets, that can finally be carried with. Those things are foldable tablets. Phones are long dead and those things will kill the cancerous abomination that we now call a phone but is actually a phablet.

Watch Westworld to see the future of personal devices. Book sized when fully untucked, (true) phone size when tucked. So yeah this is the final bullet in phones' head ... final!y ! We won't get foldable phones, we'll get "phone" nothing. Phones are dead, they had their run for 120 years. They are dead!

Mate X will be king amiong foldable phones. Xiaomi would be runner up.
Even the first foldable phone ever made with a dual screen which is Kyocera Echo looks a lot more better than Samsung galaxy fold.

Anonymous, 27 Mar 2019Does it gave crease? Fro these video it seems that it does ... morethe screen is too bright to show creases

Guys, their ceo mentioned that this design can only fit a 1000 mah battery, so I do not think it will go into production.

Anonymous, 28 Mar 2019To see the screen responds to finger touches when folding i... moreIt wasn't responding to the finger touches. It was changing the layout from tablet to phone while he was folding it. It just wasn't smooth and had a lag because it's not final software ( hopefully)

at least it doesn't have ugly notch like samsung's foldable.

Maame Raggae, 27 Mar 2019I really don't like outward folding phonesInward folding folds do not work right yet becasue you can not fold them true 90 degrees. So you wind up with a bulge on one end like a billfold. Sit on it and you will break it.

That is super wide for "phone" mode; not comfortable or attractive at all. Reminds me of an ugly LG phone from a while back, or that hideous Nissan SUV that looks like a cube. Very clunky and will likely not appeal to customers. Xiaomi should try again.

Xiaomi invented a noodle cup cover. Look fancy. I guess I could use it as paper weight as well.

To see the screen responds to finger touches when folding is not a good feeling.

If mateX is with cameras like in P30, wonder if there is alternative.

Waiting for the reviews of all fold phones but I have my eye on this one. Already using the Poco and very happy with performance and pricing. The Xiaomi foldable might be my next phone. Hope the screen doesn't get scratched easily.
