I don't think the tiny batteries in these will last that long.
And so WHEN it comes to repair/replace it, you cannot, and you must produce eWaste and buy a new set of AirPods, if you choose to stick in the Apple ecosystem.

This is how Apple makes money:
Take a common item that cost maybe EUR 10 to manufacture (it's just regular earbuds with a small radio receiver and a battery) and then turn it into an unrepairable consumption item, that you have to buy over, and over again.
They say they're a "green company" that thinks of the environment, but the only green they think about is the kind they can put in the bank, laughing all the way.
Their business practices are cunning and almost predatory. I honestly think it's time that people begin speaking of an Apple boycot.

people don't really understand the problem or better yet the way that apple takes every little penny out of our pockets with out giving us nothing we can justified for it....we literally tell apple " shut up and take my money"

That's how Apple became a trillion dollar company - by selling dongles and using poor materials on cords and chargers so that they'll tear faster and get replaced faster.
I can't say I'm surprised that Apple now tries to go the step further down the road of anti-consumer practices. They are super shady and knows exactly how to maximize profit by creating problems and letting the consumer pay for it.

Unrepairable, the favourite word of Apple's technical service. They even they don't need high formed employees to maximize profits. Anyone can change a whole module that the software indicates you must me replaced. Then charge you $XXX for that whole replaced module, even if a single $5 component failed and could have being replaced by a technician or engineer easily. That's Apple. Congrats. We will pleased to service and charge another whole module next time. See you soon hope.

Apple probably made it so unrepairable on purpose. Especially the hard to get batteries part.
