Clearly you guys complaining about updates and size and things like that, got stuck somewhere with no way out, and now you are looking to blame it on someone other than your own stupidity of not having found your own solution. Now suddenly the company has lied and broke promises - ah please, get over it and appreciate the good new products.
Amen to all of you who also just LOVE the new Galaxy Note - soon it will become the benchmark and the comparitive name for all other new phones...
The size is no problem, the weight is less than what could be expected, and the performance is much better than all the top ranking phones and tablets all in all. Phoneblet, Tabphone, Phablet call it what you like - it is the future of phones...

I don't know how many times it has to be said...It's one update that in an overall and with touch whiz will must likely slow the phone down more here or there and the average user wont need ICS. ONE UPDATE!!! Get over it! So if you misspell one word in a paragraph you don't know how to spell then?

It is not lying because in some sense it's true. And why should they have to get rid of touch whiz. Sure we are not the biggest fans of it, but its their tech not yours. If you want ICS and don't want touch whiz then rom and over clock or get a newer phone and quit crying.

If you want to whine, cry, complain, and over exaggerate then go ahead.

The only reason I buy Samsung is because it's a Nexus. But I hope Google uses Motorola as the next Nexus.

SGS, 08 Jan 2012Your comment might make sense if you were not just a troll.... moreYou seem to be detached from reality. Why do you not check out with Galaxy S and Tab users first? I am happen to be one of them and en ex Samsung customer.

Samsung was pushing Galaxy S and Tab in the shops up until 12 months ago. They even released varieties of it about 10-12 months ago. If you insist on the first release date it would make it about 18 months old well with in warranty and most contracts.

Samsung execs first lied about hardware being insufficient - mind you it has 1Ghz CPU, 512 MB RAM and 2GB ROM which is identical to Nexus S which already has the ICS. Lying is not the first offence of Samsung. They previously pulled out their official upgrade promise as well.

Later they said Samsung's extensive customisation, TouchWiz (resource hog) and country and carrier customisation was the reason.

And yet one week later they dump another carrier specific product on the market.

If you do not want to see the experience of existing Samsung customers and close your eyes to the facts, go ahead and buy their one of dozens products and find it out yourself.

What the previous commenter remmarked on is how AT&T and other American carriers demand these "exclusive" customized versions. Carriers then fail to update their devices because of their "testing/approval" processes and thus having the Americans moan endlessly about how they got burned by Samsung because their phones haven't been updated. Meanwhile elsewhere updates are steady and on time.

The SGS was updated for almost two years very well. It is only loosing out on one last update that might make the end user experience a little slower. Unless you root and possibly over clock a bit which not everyone does. That far far far far far far leaves them from not updating devices at all. LMAO

Samsung dumps another mutant on the market and soon they will not want to know about it see ICS on Galaxy S and Tab.

Get this one you will get few Android updates and wait for ever for them.

Samsung execs will say the phone is "too small" to be updgraded.

It is an amazing device. The only issue I thought was that it should have had a xenon flash and mayby duel led. Also dual stereo speakers. With all the room in the device those features would have made it perfect!
