In Europe brand name isn't that big a deal to a lot of people. They are more open to experiment. Over here in India the biggest stumbling block is that we don't have contract phones. So you have to spend that $1000 upfront which will stop a lot of people from being able to afford such devices.

      Second if you tell people you have a Huawei its not a brand that has a very strong connect with people who buy premium devices and in India at this price point brand value is a very strong proposition for prospective customers.

Hence, the only way Huawei can make a statement in the Indian market is with the price of its phones, because India is a price sensitive market and Indians follow money more than they follow technology :-)

            Mate 20 pro was always out of stock for so many months.wish p30 pro will have sufficient stock in india.if 256 gb version available count me in for preorder...also
            Huawai is best when preorder combi offers are concerned...they are keeping indians at guess for the bundles...

Though the Mate 20Pro was successful in India, Huawei is yet to establish a brand name similar to Samsung or Apple in India. Hence, people will think twice before investing 1000$ on a that isn't an Apple or a Samsung.

              Given that, the P30 Pro is an amazing device. If only Huawei can beat the pricing competition and can make the P30 Pro very attractive, people going in for the S10+ may think of the Huawei before they make their decision. In fact, if the price of the P30 Pro is tempting enough, people going for the Oneplus may also checkout Huawei.

                Huawei will not perform too well in this segment. People who have the budget in India generally buy only Apple and Samsung. Very few deviate from these two brands in the $1000 segment in India.
