Genius, Micro Leds are far from massive market, and OLED is foreseeable future king, LCD on a verge of dying and being relegated to low mod range to low end phones. If they not going to make oleds now, there will be no Japan Display left than Micro leds will come to market

Cir90, 01 Apr 2019Oled for TV And phones or only phones?Phones. OLED for TVs are a nightmare. They look spectacular at first, but the brightness is so high that they have even worse burn-in, so after 2 or 3 years you're regretting the purchase and looking at an LCD replacement. World's largest OLED manufacturer Samsung doesn't offer a single OLED TV, that's pretty telling.

They've already been displaced by South Korea. Geez man, just look at what article you're posting your comment on. Japan Display needs to be bailed out by Chinese investors because their business isn't competitive anymore lol..

In the 2010s, South Korea stepped up the gas and overtook Japan in the consumer electronics sector. Now in the upcoming 2020s, it'll be Chinese companies accelerating past South Korea. New brands replacing the old, the cycle repeats every 5-10 years..

Big LoL. most of the Chinese companies are just copying and pasting the tech invented by others. Just because they are providing same stuffs for less and you bought doesn't mean it's their innovation. Japan is still the top dog when comes to invention and innovation.

This is very encouraging news. If China can get past its past prejudices and work with (instead of hating) Japan (and maybe Korea) as equals the region will do well. As long as they keep their Mao Mk2 attitudes and remain unforgiving about history they'll languish.
