It's just a subtle reference though. It just looks to me in both movies that Japan is the major contributor for electronic things in the "future".

Samsung has b... moreThankfully, Samsung makes AMOLED panels now instead of crapmoled.
I don't say that JD can't make quality panels. But Samsung makes quality panels. And it's not an easy thing, LG would testify.
I wish luck to JD. More competition will drive prices down and make OLEDs more durable and more widespread.

LG has been trying to keep up with Samsung OLEDs and they're still years behind. Samsung might do well to sell the manufacturing tech to LG and JDI. That tech alone would be worth billions. Not that they need the cash. But we users would benefit.
