Whatever you do, do NOT update to Pie. Asus launched a half baked beta as a stable update and messed up my Max Pro M2. The screen just wont stop flickering. Considering their track record with updates, I do not expect a fix OTA anytime soon.

Since the update the screen is flickering non stop. Now my eyes are stressed to see at the screen to adjust the settings, so far nothing worked, required immediate fix.

Andriod P update is available for Max Pro M2 today.

I'm using this phone since more than 6 months and it's great for the price. No ads, pure Android and no issues. Thank you Asus for the update.
