Facebook reportedly bringing messages back to main app

Could be part of the mission to unite the brands messaging app under one umbrella.

      It's bad enough that facebook bought whatsapp so like today and last month,whenever there is an outage with facebook and instagram,Whatsapp also has to suffer,now they want to remove a stand alone whatsapp app? are they sure that they want to lose users? i don't want to use facebook to use whatsapp, that is ridiculous and i would rather buy an iphone to use imessage than use facebook to use whatsapp and instagram direct messages. Facebook wants to be Apple and Google so badly that it's going to be their downfall.

          Maybe they could also change the app so that when I order my feed by 'most recent', that is what actually happens. Oh and if you insist on forcinge to initially open web pages in Facebook, ease enable tabs and make sure web pages actually work properly. Cheers Zucks

            If only the people that i know would migrate to telegram or discord, i would delete my messenger right away

              Facebook are very afraid that regulators will force them to separate the different apps they'vebuilt and acquired from the rest of their data-collection empire and so want to "unify" things so that they can then argue "it's too difficult".

              Nothing they do is for the benefit of users. But then no corporation is altruistic, and all serve their owners rather than their users, so FB are not unusual.

                  Using a messenger back from 2016. Never gonna update it. Facebook app is worse, if you dont update it the functions gonna disappear ... So I stopped using it.

                        Facebook is dead, to me.

                          I run on friendly. That is because it has messenges and facebook in one. If facebook puts the apps together, i will consider official app for facebook. In the past, i have used lite version as it had messenger in. Abandoned it once I have seen it would split in two

                            I dont use messenger app or the Facebook app, but a browser (Dolphin or Opera) for both Facebook and messages.
