It can work for them IF they make phones fully competitive with other flagship phones, for which they'd need to provide a flagship-grade photography experience, wireless-charging, IP certification & no major drawbacks. Currently, as per the rumors, the upcoming OP7 Pro will fail to deliver on at least half of those requirements, hence failing to provide the "flagship" experience. Their phone will need to be priced relatively lower than other flagships for them to accumulate good sales.

In future if they can make phones with Samsung/Huawei level of quality & features, only then they can start pricing their phones similar to those, but certainly not now.

WANTED: Headphone jack, 3.5mm, preferably alive
Presumably Pei'd by BBK Electronics, last seen in OnePlus 6

      Wow

OnePlus phones used to be available in a sole version
The T version was acceptable since it was released months later

Now they're start doing Plus and Pro versions, just like Samsung, but mainly just like Apple
So the Base OP7 will probably have much less than the OP7P, like one less camera, no 5G connectivity, Less ram, less everything.
      Yet probably more notch.

So if you want to have full OnePlus experience, you'll have to SETTLE (see what I did there) for a full flagship price*

      *A 2016 flagship price, roughly 800 bucks.
      Look how interesting
It's twice as much as the first OnePlus, yet twice less than a 2020s fully loaded flagship

"The other two snappers in the system will be equipped with a telephoto and an ultra-wide angle lenses."

Woah! OnePlus finally doing it eh? Finally a real-multicamera setup. Also that primary 48 MP QB sensor should perform better than the mediocre 16 MP one they've been putting since a while.

It is safe to assume that the Pro variant will be noticeably costlier than the Non-Pro one. Meanwhile the Non-Pro one doesn't seem to offer enough on top of 6T to warrant any appeal.
