Looking at the comments... message to Google: when you claim to be a trendsetter and a rebel*, your "return to basics" may hit you pretty hard :P
IMO phones without 3 punch holes and additional 2 waterdrop holes, with a screen format that takes less than 5 digits to write down (in other words, not 20.42069:9.1337), with a conventional jack (how dare!) and with less than 4 cameras, aren't "so 2012". At any price they aren't, provided that the single/dual camera makes DSLRs cry in da corner, the screen outshines the Sun, the 3.5 output manages to blow up 0.5M gig speakers and the back panel also works as coffee warmer :D
Not so much in this case. (Though to be frank, the very first leak from Rozetked looked promising.)

*Remember it didn't take them ANY substantial amount of time to ditch the 3 1/2 hole ;)

Is it just me, or do the phones really resemble old iPhone designs before the notch era?

Pixel 3a. The 'a' means acceptable. Well, I guess SD670 & SD710 is acceptable beside the huge bezel. A bit larger than Pixel 3 but downgraded chipset. At least Pixel 3a XL is 6". Probably already thinking of using the better mid-range chipset like SD675 & 730 for pixel 4a series.

If it weren't for the smaller battery, I would've gotten their phones as bezels prove useful during gaming and those bezels being ultra-powerful speakers made it all the better.

They must be the remains of some Chinese supplier or HTC, the cheapest thing they have found to sell it at the price of GOLD. Each time they look more like Apple but with these I think they have even overcome them in greed hahahaha. What a barbarity, they should send them directly to recycle or they eat them lul.

I should lose my brain to buy such an ugly and overpriced thing today. Looks like one of my 6 years old phones. And they pretend to sell them for $490 the 3a and $600 for the 3a XL. LOL

                  WTH ?
                  Google just invented Time Machine!
They brought the whole world back in 2012 ! LOL

No 9 images stacking for noise reduction is not enough for a camera sensor which is smaller than 1/2 inches...if you want same amount of details you you get 1/2 inches sensor you need at least 15 images to stack for better ISO noise reduction...

I mean the top and bottom bezels could be smaller, but even then - THANK YOU GOOGLE for bringing more compact devices. 5.6" is not small by any mean, but it's within limits of being able to use the device with one hand.

With Galaxy A - e series, new 5"-ish iPhone and now the compact series of google pixel, we might be lucky to see more compact devices from other manufacturers as well. So, once again - big thanks to Google, Samsung and Apple, for brining back the trend of phones usable with one hand.

You can say pixel 3a is basically a combination of iphone 6s and 5C. All those years, I started to believe that, Google is different but no i can;'t help myself to believe that, these are all money sucking US giants.

Looks like I'm crossing these off. Why can't Google afford a SD675 for Pixel 3a and a SD730 for the Pixel 3a XL?

What happened to the Google who was the first to use the elusive SD821 while everyone else go for the SD820?

I wouldn't worry about the design as long as the camera is good, but it would be interesting to see how they price it, sub 500USD might be the sweet spot, any higher and it would be competing with actual flagships from both current and previous gen. Even thought it packs the same camera as the pixel 3, I still don't think its going to be on par with it because the SD845 still has a better ISP than SD670

This could be the best looking phone of 2019.
                                  Kudos to Google.

Cant believe people will be buying this 2017 styled camera with internet, calling facilities and android OS. Can't even call this a mobile phone for 2019.

ok, seems like google just want to lose.
