[deleted post]**rather-- nevermind my previous rants about the redmi s2 (y2) not getting pie. so the Y3 turns out to have sd632 instead of sd625. my wife said she can live with that.

Anonymous, 23 Apr 2019Why is she so desperate for Pie?not really desperate, but we think it is unfair to not update the redmi s2 (y2) to pie when the hardware is in fact capable. i mean, i can see that the phone has got the latest features of miui as it was just updated recently to miui 10.3, security patch is updated as well (to february though), but in the long run pie would at least add a year or two to the support for play services. besides, isn't it really unfair if you out a device in oreo and never plan to update it to at least one higher android version?

Essen, 22 Apr 2019Put in SD 425. I really don't care, but can anyone come out... moreagree! at least, start again selling redmi 3 and redmi 4 phones, these are compact, 140x70mm, with 4000mAh battery and endurance rating better than new phones. I dont care overrated pixels, redmi 3 have enough pixels to give clear picture. hate big phones with short battery life!

Anonymous, 22 Apr 2019Its a SD632, because same case was with Redmi 7 benchmark (... moreThere's no problem with using SD625 as long as it's not priced inline with newer SoCs then it would be fine.

I have a source telling that Xiaomi have lots of SD 625 in stock because parts of a deal.
They need a way to get rid of these outdated procs....

my wife got a redmi s2 (y2) last year as a replacement while her gs9 was being repaired. she liked it alot that she in fact used it more now that the gs9. it's not about performance, rather the price she got it for (around $135) while still packing decent performance and great battery life. the only drawback was the occassional ads in the settings and the fact that xiaomi is not planning on pushing an update to pie. she was beginning to accept it as the sd625 indeed came out way back 2016; then came this. this basically tells us she won't receive pie update on her redmi s2 (y2) so she needs to buy instead this y3. it is cheap; but then it's wasteful to just buy another phone with basically the same specs when the old one is perfectly working fine still.

Redmi is going to loose their shit.

                        625 : u think i died? Lol

Put in SD 425. I really don't care, but can anyone come out with a phone that;s under 70mm wide and under 140mm tall? With some basic facilities like a fingerprint scanner, a decent battery, 64gb storage and an mSD slot? Surely, everything can't be a 6+ inch shovel.

Its a SD632, because same case was with Redmi 7 benchmark (SD625), but in the end its 632.. it seems that those two processors is similar (14nm), only clock is differente 1.8ghz (632), 2.0ghz (625). Anyway, it seems that this phone will be copy of redmi 7 (to big), only with better selfie cam, so..

If this were their response to Samsung's sub $100 phones with Exynos 7870, it'd be more than okay
