The latest Chrome 74 for Windows 10 has a secret dark mode

If you had already enable dark on default app mode in Windows 10 (Under Settings > Personalization > Colors) , Chrome will automatically apply the dark mode theme itself. I love how Chrome integrate themselves into operating system. Would love to see other features integrating with Windows 10.

If you use to dark mode occasionally, you donwt have to do that.
but even if you use light mode and still need to use dark mode in chrome, then you can do it.

Linux Chrome has it too, also in version 73. It is not windows exclusive

A much easier method would be to switch the Windows Setting for Dark mode. This enables Dark mode in Chrome, and to revert to normal, switch the setting back and all is good.
The setting for Dark Mode in Windows is available at Settings > Personalization > Colors.

I just made it work on Windows 7 but it;s not 100% dark:
- go to C:\Program Files and search for chrome.exe
- right-click on it and send it to desktop as a shortcut
- right-click the new shortcut and add this in the target field: -force-dark-mode
- make sure you add one or two spaces before the "-" symbol
- click apply and ok
- it will work only if you open up that shortcut
Still, it's better than having that hideous white everywhere..

Dark mode is cool just I don't need it. After updating speed is improved a bit. I'm switching between Chrome and Firefox all the time. Both are great.

If you use your Windows 10 in dark mode, Chrome will automatically use dark mode after updating to version 74. No need for shortcut.
