I think, if LG in any case quit mobile business, LG Electronics will eventually die for sure.
LG mobile suppose to be the technology generator for the coming years!

I see a lot of people say LG should stop making smartphones. Has anyone used their latest smartphones? G7 V30 V40 are some of the best phones i have seen the last 2 years and price is always really really low after 2 months of release. Yes they still have problems, software updates are pour and maybe they should consider better batteries but right now i consider LG flagship smartphones to be the ultimate value for money. IP68, 3.5 jack with quad DAC,great speakers, 2k great screens good cameras, perfect videos.

Hard to understand this. LG is basically dead in my country after the G4 bootloop and had pulled out since then, the latest phone you can find on the LG Vietnam website is the V20.

Anonymous, 25 Apr 20191) Drastically overprice the phone at launch 2) Nobody buy... morein my country BULGARIA ( MY COUNTRY IS A MEMBER OF THE EUROPEAN UNION ) price for lg g7 fit is 200 eur or 225 $ - new with 2 years warranty
                          EUROPEAN MODEL
cheaper than Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 64GB 4GB RAM in my country price is 240 eur or 270$ .

Why would they manufacture it at South Korea? The labour's there quite expensive. Even Apple manufactures their phones in China and India (and are still bloody hell pricey).

                              Walter C. Dornez, 25 Apr 2019Didn't you have a Pixel 3 before?Lol, nice catch.

Though he isn't necessarily wrong, LG did and does make great phones. In fact, they are innovators in the field by: having DualCameras, Shaving Bezels, Increasing Battery Capacity, Decreasing Thickness, Adding RAW/Manual Controls to Cameras, Bringing faster Autofocus, Introducing Ultrawide Lenses, and Innovating on the Headphone-QuadDAC experience.

So, definitely LG deserves to be successful, in my eyes. As does SONY, HTC, and to a small extent Motorola. However, they are not succeeding, but fading into obscurity. Not to mention other competitors like Palm, Blackberry, and Jolla-Mer-MeeGo-Maemo enthusiasts.

The only sure bets for success are Apple, Google, Samsung, Xiaomi, Vivo-BBK-OPPO, and to a lesser extent Huawei. That's x2 USA companies, x1 Korean, and the rest of the market is China. There's really nothing from Japan, Israel, or Europe, not to mention India or the continents of Australia, South America, Africa... so much for competition/diversity in the market !!

No would have known all these years their handsets where made in Korea. LG phones have been the least durable of all the phones I have had. My G4 had WiFi, Bluetooth issues after the first year, V20 I had needed a new screen after a year and a half of usage. Boot loops are also a well known issue for their handsets. It couldn’t be any worse if they started to make them in Vietnam.

very sad, seeing my favorite brand going down like this. Lack of S/W support and marketing.

The end is near. They have done so many mistakes, it was a matter of time... Anyways they have stopped selling their phones in southeastern europe a few years ago. They won't be missed, s they offer nothing to the industry now. They have a ns implementation of the sony camera. Sometimes good display panels, but that almost bankrupt huawei with what they have then for the mate20pro. Their design is stacked on the iPhone x notch and they are waiting for apple to change it, so they can copy the new one. They are just pathetic...

                                        1) Drastically overprice the phone at launch
                                        2) Nobody buys it
                                        3) Panic and cut the price so much that you get virtually zero profit
                                        4) ???
                                        5) Loss!

^Every. Single. Time. I thought it was funny when I noticed this patent first, but it's just plain sad how after so many failed attempts they keep doing the same thing. Their recent release of G7 Fit shows the company's pricing strategy in a nutshell: Original G7 ThinQ is currently available at between 300$ and 400$. LG releases G7 Fit, which is a watered down version of G7 ThinQ (it has SD 821 instead of 845, way way worse camera etc.). Guess what price tag they give to it - 430$... Not funny, just sad.
