NAND-roid, 04 May 2019Galaxy a8s is the first mobile to implement punch hole came... moresir with your reasoning i would say samsung could be a no personality brand too. ever heard of reverse wireless charging as seen in mate20pro in 2018 which samsung introduced in their 2019 s10 lineup? for me the issue is not who is first but rather who implemented it better. all we can do is give credit to the brand who introduced it esp if its a useful tech.

Anonymous, 04 May 2019Well both phones were first available to purchase in Januar... moreyah. we cannot really know who is first (for me its doesnt matter anyway) as we have little to no actual, genuine and reliable information on which company have the technology in development internally first. all we know are their release dates, and even that doesnt tell us anything because Company A may first release and introduced a technology but Company B might have the same in development much earlier and just released much later. so yahh.

From my research both phones were unveiled with a punch hole display on the 10 of December last year.
As both Honor view 20 and Samsung Galaxy A8s has Lcd screens with punch holes and were announced on the same day or at least very very close to each other I have a hard time believing that Honor stole the design from Samsung.
The S10 is though the first punch hole display that id Oled.
Thanks for informing about the A8s though. I didn't know it had punch hole display too.

WhyyyyyyyyyyyyExactly, I can't believe Huawei still thinks that people consider larger screen an advantage. When you browse user review in western online stores, for 6"+ phones it's almost ALWAYS listed as a disadvantage.
Samsung realized this and started releasing compact devices like S10e, A20e, A40 etc., Google knew that for a while since all non-XL Pixels are fairly compact, Apple knows that since always, just Huawei still for some reason believes that people want to carry these paddles around.
