Men oh men!!!! where do i begin. I have had a lot to say about the shortcomings of HTC thru the years. They kept digging their own demise even though fans and non-fans were trying to point out what needed adjustments.
At this stage a mediocre mid-range device will not save them. For starters they can take a playbook from OnePlus....Make that one phone with all the top specs and price it very reasonably. Very very doable but can the thick heads at HTC listen and see the light??????
I'm just exhausted and feel very bad to see the one time Android power house and pioneer of Android phones (where it all began) go out or dying slow death.
WAKE UP HTC....TIME TO RISE AGAIN. Can they do it or it's toooooo Late????

HTC just give us Android Pie already on HTC u11 onwards. It will be better off that you sell the HTC u11 at a discounted (or equal) price to replace this nonsense (since I'm sure u have lots of units lying around) and focus all your resources to build the next flagship.

Not that long ago, HTC used to dine at the top table....do what you need to do to get relevant or get gone...! I would love to see you back where you belong but it's got to be earned......!!

HTC or any other company that want to stay relevant needs high end models, or be forgotten

So it could be relative compact. The A22 has 4x Cortex-A53 @ 2.0 GHz and a weak PowerVR GE8320 with a max diplay resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. The positive thing is that being a low performance SOC in 12nm, it should have lower power consumption too.

Maybe a device with Snapdragon for Europe/North America and Taiwan, then Mediatek for Southeasr Asia.

Software wise is great, I’m not missing features either. Stock visuals look dated, but you got htc themes and you can built your own to look exactly the way you want them. Sound is loud, but not as rich as the latest iphones. Camera is good, selfie cam good enough, video is not bad, but can’t compare even with iphone x, nevermind xs. What else ? Oh screen. I like lcds, but this one is not one of the best out there. Brightness is low, even if you max it out. Good enough for indoor use, but i struggle a lot outside. I mean i am not really looking forward to pie, as software experience is spot on. After the early April update, battery life has improved and i get about 7 hours sot with almost 2 days of usage. Standby is also good, i get about 3% per 8 hours, regardless is day or night. Overall i am happy with it. It’s one of the better android experiences out there. Is no apple though, but some people feel allergy to apples, or at least their prices, so they have to live with android. Well, i like htc’s take on android. I sure wish there were more mobile OS out there, as android was and still is cr***y.

While its design language is boring, its camera performance is among the top 10, and its sound and screen quality are also not bad. There is certainly room for improvement, with improvement in software, and adding more features.
Considering how long HTC has been around, and producing some great phones, it's sad to see that it's not improving enough.

Considering SOC, maybe HTC will focus on low end to mainstream phones now.
I kinda hoped we would see another proper flagship made by HTC, well flagship that fixes HTC issues like pathetic battery life.
HTC phones are great, you just have to wait 6-12 months and the price is already 50 percent lower.

The only MediaTeks I support are the P60 and P70, the rest are irrelevant to me.
And instead of wasting time for a SoC which will unlikely get good ROM support, they could've just gone for the Snapdragon 632 for good app optimizations.
If they're on an even tighter budget, then Snapdragon 630 would also do.
I'm simply not considering any MediaTek SoCs, especially since I'm going to keep my phone for at least a year, and MediaTek SoCs are known to have poor custom software support, if they even have one at all.

It doesn't matter the price when the components are no as good as what they ask. No word about actual software, etc. A phone can be overpriced at $1000 or at $100. It depends of what it offers in exchange. And knowing HTC... Let see where that goes... But as if it did not exist.

Those scores looks like an A22. They r probably still gonna price above $200...
