I don't see why you're even comparing it to the Redmi Note 7, even the Redmi Note 5 beats it.

You blame it on hype?

Still though, the resistance to rapid change in atmospheric pressure has very questionable use for most users. Resistance to extreme cold is... Fine I guess, but my issue is that what absolute majority of users care is first and foremost drop/physical pressure resistance and somewhat a water resistance.
As shown by multiple testers, Redmi absolutely failed with the absolutely most vital part of durability - the physical one (by combining large size, glass back and dubious internal structure) - yet still advertises the phone as "durable".
The problem here is that they realize that people want their phones durable so they aim at the 'weak spot' of customers by beguiling them with the questionable durability claims when they have virtually nothing serious to support it with.
I wouldn't mind at if they did some serious testing, but literally everything they do is this sly, shifty, subtle claims that lure you in but promise nothing because they know they can't deliver. It's exactly the kind of behaviour you expect from the shady small chinese manufacturers who photoshop the phone on their aliexpress page with thinner bezels than they actualy are. It's dirty and pathetic in my eyes.

Well its true that the phone failed at jerryrigeverything tests although the reszult were very impresive for a 170 euros phone.
But guys please understand taht at 31KM height the atmospheric pressure and the cold of -60 degrees even a 1000 euros phone would have problems to survive.
