In fairness, this is good for Google to do.
Listen, people keep bashing the Pixels and many of it is warranted considering they do have problems. But if they continue to flop in sales, we may never see the next Pixels around for long. We will all be stuck in the Android world picking between Samsung or a Chinese brand.
I want Pixel to live on. Not end after seven flagships like the Nexus line did. Nexus had its share of problems too even if the Nexus 4 and 5 were cheap at $299. Short battery life, poor display, bad camera. People forget that. We need Pixels to succeed or it's like MCU w/o Iron Man.

google have to decide either to market this as premium midrange or normal midrange ... the price scream premium to me but product itself , just a normal midrange phone. cpu, built quality and design ... crap... is this 2014? that bazel only acceptable on low end product nowadays or google price this at $279 max. front firing stereo speakers was the only reason why pixel 2 and 3 get away with those design element & pixel 3a bazel served no purposed other than be an eyesore. .

India adds 20% import duty and then GST, which is 18% to the price after import duty. So a $450 phone (31.5k), becomes 37800, and then after GST it becomes 44604, which is within spitting distance to the leaked price of 44999.
Also, the OnePlus 6T with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM is going for 31.5k today on Amazon. The base model 3A is going to cost about the same 30k lol, with every spec inferior(except camera) and a plastic build.
BTW, just a tip: The taxes equate precisely to one dollar being about 100 rupees. So if a product costs $300, it will be 30k after import. Or if it costs $450, it will cost 45k after import. It's a super easy way to calculate without putting much thought into it.

Why ... moreIf the Price is 45k INR, I'm not gonna buy sure; but if the price is as previously leaked that $300 imported price & India may add some tax then, if the parent company (Google) want to sell their product with differential pricing/tiered pricing through which they may tag price according to country context; then, I'm assuming that, this phone is not gonna exceed 30k INR. But, still I'm gonna buy if and only if they add google headphones in the box.
I don't mind to be slight over priced..(not much though). why: this way it will make unaffordable for some. I'm really sick and tired of other OEMs.
I checked oppo R17 price today and they're selling it for 27k for 8gb rom, 128 storage. That's why, I'm expecting that, as the processor is already a year old, ram, rom less than oppo, still paying premium for Google brand; so, hoping pixel headphones for price within 30K INR.

I really doby understood how is Google getting away with this?
For 400$ this phine sucks and any other company trying to sell such overrated crap would go bankrupt. Excluding oneplus, most of other companies would have slower phones at the same specs, compared to a pixel phone. But 400€/$ can land you you flagship specs. Just why would anyone choose this, those specs, dat bezels and at that price? I knkw there are app devs, who actually have no option why anybody else get it, is beyond me. And this continuing cooperation with HTC is very suspicious. There was a time they were relevant, but we are way past that. What are they gaining from it?

Of course, the main differences is the missing front stereo speaker!? Not that I need that but wtf?! That massive chin is massive - such a design flaw.
Let's sum up:
-1 front cam
-processor
-quality materials
+audio jack
you get a pixel 3 regular for 100-150€ more - why sacrafice nearly everythign for an audio jack?! Also you get a mi9 for the same money - DxOMark 6th best far beyond pixel 3 - Don't buy this phone if you dont wanna waste money.

Read the entire sentence - they state that they are happy because of AOD support. OLED displays can light up individual pixels, unlike LCDs, that's why it is so great to have one. OLED-equipped phone can display notifications all the time without draining battery, which is great.
