Using the sloppy term "battery backup" they refer to the device stamina, potentially not being that good. (A large hi res screen generally needs more power than a small low res one)
On the other hand a larger battery would have increased the weight, so the optimal battery size much depends on each user's usage pattern.

What do they mean when it said "But, considering the size and resolution of the screen, it seems the backup may not be all that impressive?"

Finally! Manufactures has out done themselves! The 'courage' to have double notch!

BROKEASS TECH, 08 May 2019I don't understand this design choice at all. I understand... moreI like the dual-notch idea.
If I could design my phone, the top would house a decent front camera and loudspeaker, and the bottom will house the same camera and same loudspeaker. It would be symmetrical and pleasing to look at. You could use the phone either up/down orientation.

And when playing music, you would get a much louder and richer speaker performance.
And when taking photos, the two cameras would speak to each other and actually generate a Super Wide Angle shot (120'-180'). Not to mention, other tasks like 3D/AR/VR, or even using in the Default Mode the "top camera" as the primary camera with the "bottom camera" providing information to improve Bokeh photography, Telephoto photography, Daylight photography, and Low-light performance.

In fact, the rear would also house two identical cameras which can also do Super Wide Angle shot, and all the bells and whistles stated above. And a final mode, which can use all four cameras at the same time to stitch together a 360' video.... perfect for capturing moments now and watching them back in VR.

There we were happy and content with our unanimous worst/ugliest bezelled device category winner Pixel 3 XL... then this comes along!

                      Oh ffs..

Where Sharp goes, Apple et tal will follow.
                        ;-)

I don't understand this design choice at all.
I understand some people seem to prefer the finger print reader on the front of the phone and Sharp obviously were not happy putting in the current under the screen finger print display technology but why not then just put it on the back on the phone in a sensible and convenient spot and have a full screen display with a small teardrop notch like it looks could have been possible.
In this case, 2 notches are not better than 1.
Back to the drawing board guys.

Who the heck actually buys these devices? Do they even have long term software support?

Wow in the age where companies are eliminating notches..this one has two...

That battery is straight garbage for a phone with that beastly of a diaplay. Another hard pass (despite the fact that I think this is only targeting Japan anyway...)
