Guest_star, 23 Jan 2012I really don't know what all of you people have against LG.... moreI fully agree with you, i also have Optimus black 6 months now and its a great device, no problems what so ever.
I belive Samsung and LG will be on top of all brands in the end of this year or max next year.

Lorride, 21 Jan 2012You clearly don't get it, this is no different than the evo... morethat's a well-worded reply to my post and I like your attitude, however, what I'm more or less getting at is: do most people need a quad core, and where/how are they going to put it to practical use? I'm not against advancement of technology, god forbid! but putting a quad core in a phone seems about as practical as putting a, say, 500 gb hard drive into one, making it quite a useless advancement, so to speak.

I really don't know what all of you people have against LG...I'm a proud owner of LG optimus black and it works great, no problems with camera, nor battery, it lasts 2,5 days no problem and i surf the web and play games all the time and the screen is great, better than one on galaxy s, except for the blacks, had both in hands and compared so i know what I'm talking about...so don't hate on something you don't know anything about...as far as software updates go you are right there, they are very slow, but not everything can be perfect

No matter how you look at this...
a) LG sucks big-time - not just because of their horrendous software update record but
b) because of their OS overlay, poor quality camera / battery and
c) generally half-baked overall build / effort
BUT
What it does show is that people like Sony better release a quad this year at MWC or they're in real danger of being left behind - whether we need the tech or not...

why a quad core? the answer is the production costs; the costs of producing dual cores and quad cores are getting closer.an example to this is iphone 4 and iphone 4s.cost of 4 is around 170$ while 4s is around 180$, the difference is ridiculously low as 10$!same thing is happening in between dual core-quad core cpus.and i definetely agree with the comments on the battery performance issues, which is to me the most important point in a mobile device.we cant call this as a progression if the battery issues wont be solved.

All I can say is, omnomnom battery life. Also, not fond of LG phones because their UI looks pretty hideous. I'm fine with.my dual core phone and I think quad core is rather pointless and useless. I suspect that they are just putting that in for the sake of it because honestly why do you need it. So what if it is faster and has no lag? I just don't see why it is needed...

Belle, 21 Jan 2012Quad core = more expense. Meanwhile WP7 and Symbian and Mee... moreRight... because my G2... and the Galaxy S I had became obsolete... you do know that Android still has single core devices that runs just as well as dual core ones do you not?
That's funny from what I read about Microsoft's Q4 filing, they didn't even mention WP7 because it was a failure, even though Nokia started Selling the Lumia 800 in mid November in most of Europe and parts of Asian, not only that Microsoft had deals with a lot of carriers giving away free xbox 360's and kinect devices with the purchase of a Lumia 800.
MeeGo, whats that? Oh, you mean that OS that even with the release of PR 1.2 most users still can't even do video calling with?
Symbian? That OS where fanboys kept saying didn't need anything higher than 600MHz, and Nokia showed a 1GHz Symbian device that ran like crap?
You're rich, also Skype was promised for Windows Phone 7 since April 11th, its been 10 months yet and still can't do Skype?
