samsung Fanboy pro, 23 Jan 2012Ha ha dont make me laugh and ipad no good and a galaxy tab ... moreI did say "I have never tried a playbook" I can't talk about something I didn't try, that's the thing fanboys do, I did tried the iPad, and the Galaxy tab, why? Because I have a cousin with bought the Galaxy tab and I have the chance to use it and is horrible, face it, I tried the iPad at an apple store because I was searching for a tablet, and people talked "wonders" about that thing... and... well like I've said "it's just an over-sized, and over-prized iPod."
The problem is that apple and android fanboys go to every single thread about BlackBerry to troll about it, you know we don't care if you think iPhones/iPad's are the next best thing, or if the GSII or Nexus have the best screen in the smart phone market, we, the people who use BlackBerry, don't need you to "save us" from these "horrible phones" if we use them is for a REASON, and that reason has the same value as has yours when you decided to go for an apple/android smart phone.

Let's go back to that video introduction a bit. These are actual quotes from the mouth of RIM's new CEO:
"We have taken this to totally new heights and that journey isn't over yet."
"If we continue doing well what we're doing, I see no problems with us being in the top three players worldwide in the next years in wireless."
"At the very core of RIM is the innovation. We always think ahead. We always think forward. We sometimes think the unthinkable. And that is fantastic."
"Internally, from a process perspective, I think we need to get a bit more disciplined in our own processes."
"We are a great innovative company, but sometimes we innovate too much while we're building a product."
"What we need to get a bit better at here is to have a little bit more of an ear toward the consumer. I want the strengthen this by bringing really good marketing expertise in."
"...With the 'Be Bold' campaigns, starting right now, I find this really exciting. I'm getting good feedback and we want to continue driving this."
"Don't lose focus on what the present is. Congratulations to the team; we've seen great success with PlayBook 2.0 at CES. We are heading absolutely in the right direction."
"BB 10, needless to say, we have to ship on time. I can't wait to see it."

I'm pulling for RIM as much as anyone. The absolute last thing I want is one less (good) option in the mobile market. But this CEO speak smacks of the exact same thinking that has positioned RIM where it is today: miles behind Android and iOS. He mentions "continuing" what RIM is doing. That's actually the exact opposite of what it should be doing. If he truly believes that RIM "always" thinks ahead, there are thousands -- perhaps millions -- of consumers and investors that would love to know who is stifling all of this innovation that's evidently happening internally. He's getting great feedback on the Be Bold campaign? Who, exactly, is feeding him this line? In the consumer world, I can think of a handful of campaigns that are getting far more traction than the touting of a smartphone platform that hasn't innovated in the better part of Android's life on this planet. If he's seen "great reviews" on PlayBook 2.0, he's reading from the wrong book -- the hard truth is that RIM's tablet hopes are decidedly grim without a vivacious developer community that doesn't yet exist. Oh, and he can't wait to see BlackBerry OS 10? By the time BB OS 10 hits, the iPhone 5 will be a reality. Need I really say more?

its funny that people talk of nokia dying what you dont realise is smartphones make a percentage of total sales but the phones that sell the most are medium to low price phones.toyota never made many fancy cars but they are the biggest automaker because they make reliable cheap cars.not everyone wants a gadget to tinker with,thousands of apps,crazy many cpu cores e.t.c.Most want a phone that they can phone with.Even on an iphone you will be surprised with how many of them dont have any apps.

Too little, too late. BBerry should bring an 9.4/10.1 tablet with Playbook/QNX Os 2 to stay in this business, BB 0s 10 it's coming a bit to late and the rumored phone containing it, what about the phone?

Nokia will get strong in USA with the stunning 4G LTE fastest phone in 2012, we still wait for BB to come with a nice design, great OS like WP7,5... good luck to BB.

Why should anyone choose a BlackBerry over an iPhone or a GSII? Well simple, I don't give a damn about youtube, or angry birds, or fart apps, I DO give a damn about NOT getting malware or not being able of switch a damn battery or.. you know making a call, I'm sorry the "texting and emailing in BlackBerry is awful!" is a lie, physical keyboards are way more useful than those fancy "touch-screens". What was the other thing? "Boring software" oh yes, boring, I didn't know that software has to look fancy rather than work properly, I never have used a playbook, but I DID try a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and an iPad and they suck, the UI in a Galaxy tab 10.1, ALL NEW WITHOUT anything additional was, laggy and unpractical... fancy, yes, functional? Hell, NO. And the iPad... It's just an over-sized iPod, and I never feel like like paying a lot of money for mp3 players just to be "cool".
RIM has its issues, you have to be blind to not be able to see that, but their products are good, I don't think that the company only need to change its top brass, they need to invest in development and stop playing the "catch up" game with apple and Google. I do hope this "new blood" brings a positive change within RIM, I don't want the company to disappear, and just being at the mercy of two companies that have the same approach and doesn't have a lot of the "innovation" that people talk.
