I use mt6577, mt6752, mt8176, X20 all during at least 18 months without any problem. Now I use P60 since 8 months.
I even use a DVD/DivX player with mt1389 since 15years!
I see what you describe with several soc (mine or Friends' devices) : SD410 (Galaxy Grand Prime), Intel Z3745 (Lenovo Yoga), Mt6582 (TCL Pop 8), NVIDIA Tegra 3 (Nexus 7), Exynos 5250 (Nexus 10), rk3188...
All soc manufacturers, in my list...but that's not the problem.
Every time I've seen these behavior on a device, it was linked to nand storage, not soc.
You can verify with Androbench...
On Nexus 7 for exemple, I saw random read fall under 200kO/s...most horrible one.

I think the regular Reno is pretty affordable already (within China of course).
Anyway, notches be gone please...

Anonymous, 14 May 2019Manufacturers put 48MP on SD660 or SD710 that can not provi... morewell, i dont mean Mediatek is bad, not at beginning, but use it as normal, dont root the phone, start install apps and so on, 6 or 7 months after they will lag so badly that you will regret buying MTK phones....trust me, i already have 2 or 3 Heilo X20 and P60 ones...and isnt so good in day by day usage than on paper...
instead, my Snapdragons are like the name claims: snap everytime, fast and never lets down like MTK ones.
im no ignorant, just a user, not a "sheet paper reader"

Never mind, people applause : it's Snapdragon!
When manufacturers put Helio P90 which is able to handle such a camera...
Plus offer same CPU perfs than SD710
Close GPU perfs (maybe 10% less than SD710)
AI close to...SD855
And better price, people complain!
Sad that people are so ignorant!

The p90 is ... moreMediatek SOCs aren't bad for the average joe but they're mostly disliked among many Android enthusiasts because they never get dev support. As far as I know no phone with a Mediatek SOC in it has gotten custom ROMs or even a Gcam port, which many phones with Mediatek SOCs desperately need

NO! No! NOOOO! Nooooooooooo... moreOperating off your memory of horrible mediatek? The p90 is at least good(nice ISP and similar core count approach/architecture to Snapdragon)on paper and the p60 and 70 are doing great
And in cases you missed it in this same Reno line up there is a Snapdragon 710 variant with usb c so I don't see the reason to complain..
