Best Google is the one not used. I used to love Google, but they got so bad and invasive I ditched it entirely.

Do you think software houses, internet services and everything else oyu can buy and subscribe to on your phone are interested in betting their multimillion dollar investments on pure chance and word of mouth? Do you think this is still the year 1919?

AnonD-762416, 23 May 2019That is so naive. Apple is a software and services company ... moreTheir services are not ad-based. They offer pay-to-own, pay-to-see, pay-to-use content - just like everything out there should be: pay with money instead of paying with personal data and allowing yourself to be the subject of constant monitoring.

If you own an apple device, it would be foolish to use any google-made services or apps (search, docs, drive, gmail, youtube), or facebook, instagram, whatsapp, etc., as those would defeat the whole purpose of using a privacy-enabled device.

Ads aren't the problem. Spying on behalf of the US government is.

oh look, google and other companies do what they always do: gather and sell user data. But when Huawei got accudes of sending data everyone cry and US gov block them...
I can bet that in reality Google can do this because they have backdoors for UE and US but Huawei send data only to china... and its big problem for US/EU :D

I hope Google/Facebook/Twitter get HUGE fines....

Anonymous, 23 May 2019Very good stuff! Investigate them all and slap them with fi... moreThat is so naive. Apple is a software and services company too. They are touting that their services is their fastest growing business at the moment. It's not growing because they're protecting you from those who wants to buy you as a product.

That said, I have also noticed some odd "coincidences" with tracking beyond what's acceptable. It's not just Google but also Facebook, Amazon and their likes. I only use Duckduckgo for search, in a feeble attempt to reduce my resale value. But, anything I do search for does look to end up in targeted advertising. The tracking is seemingly beyond what's cookies and clicks based.

Very good stuff! Investigate them all and slap them with fines until they start playing fair.
Although I think Apple won't care for this, as they don't collect identifiable user data or serve ads or anything, so they should be clear of any wrongdoings.

And sure all them guilty as usual. So f*** all them with the higher fines plus give them only a short time to change all behaviour and code if they still want to countinue in EEC. If not, kick all them. They can spy people in USA but not here. And they already started the trade war worldwide too. Hit them hard as more taxes are upcoming from there plus more retailation will eat from here too while we have low taxed trading with the rest of the world.
