Note7 owner, 26 May 2019When Huawei calls it quit, the world will go on and Huawei ... moreIf you can't walk and chew gum, or just have a random thought without reading the full article, don't post

Trump without providing an iota of evidence, or backed up by anyone from say that network or say another 5G competitor e.g Cisco had banned Huawei

The last line of this article is important

China won't sign any trade agreement that sacrifices Huawei (remember that Apple was fined nearly €20 Bn. For tax evasion in Eire
Illegal but both the Senate & Congress went nuts)
Would DT therefore agree to any trade deal that sacrifices Apple

Now you have a President that doesn't know the word "Sorry" or has a reverse gear, having to reverse himself

In addition the Executive Order has to be removed. .. oh wait no longer a security threat

Tariffs were one thing to smear Huawei and bring them to the brink is another

DT may equally just say it was a bargaining tool plain and simple... because he can...
If he does Huawei will claim $billions

Dometalican, 26 May 2019I think this whole thing will blow over eventually but for ... moreDoubtful. They'll need a brand new never-seen-before GPU (and CPU) architecture. Those things aren't made overnight. Without any revenue until this solution is designed, they'll run out of money and go bankrupt. Remember they also have to make the OS, WiFi chips, Bluetooth chips...

Huawei won't survive this ban. It must either be lifted or they die.

Oppaii, 26 May 2019Trump will likely lift the ban(I think). But even if the ba... moreHow ironic that they trust Trump or the US government when they are the ones doing the opposite than what they are accusing what Huawei is doing. Edward Snowden is a living proof of that.

It depends. Huawei is not taking this serious enough. Right now, Huawei is in the end game. Huawei needs to borrow money and its hard to imagine anyone taking a chance (RISK) with it now that Huawei is losing major partners.

To be honest, it's too early for anyone to answer that question truthfully right now.

Trump will likely lift the ban(I think). But even if the ban is lifted Huawei will still hurt badly, some of their users/customers may throw the trust they give to Huawei.

Anonymous, 26 May 2019Things it’s not easy as you think.Ofcourse its not easy but there have been rumors of it

When Huawei calls it quit, the world will go on and Huawei will become a distant memory in 2-3 months. Huawei doing business or not is not a big deal.

I do believe because of no evidence huawei sends US to coutrs and they will have to pay for every penny Huawei lost on this blame cause with no evidence of proof of stealing data.
US are nothing more than a liars which will protect their stupid brand which must buy whole device from another chinese company because they are too lazy to make even own modems for 5G network.

Looking forward to see that Android replacement. As of late, Android has lost it's charm & turned into an iOS inspired mess. A replacement OS would be great. Something like a purely linux-based OS (with GUI) for smartphones would be perfect.

Dometalican, 26 May 2019I think this whole thing will blow over eventually but for ... moreAnd imagine if it ran android apps without rewritting codes and have all features of android and being open source without fragmentation so Huawei can roll out updates on large scale like iOS

I'm not a fan but I do feel bad for Huawei.

Honestly if they allowed unlocking the bootloader I'd grab one for cheap, the hardware is good (except the size of the phones). But that's the whole point, you can't get rid of the shady Chinese firmware.

I think this whole thing will blow over eventually but for the time being, I'm positive Huawei along with HiSilicon will figure out how to make their own GPU or partner with another Chinese/Japanese company to provide it. As for the OS, it's as easy as turning to the /e/ OS. If Huawei decides to let that OS continue its goals of providing the best Google-less Android experience possible, it'll make everyone that doubted Huawei look rather silly. Imagine Huawei phones being more secure than Apple and Android OEMs. lol.
