samarth n8 808, 25 May 2019They should reduce the price further. Its just not worth it... moreYou're not much of a professional if you don't think it's worth it. A professional uses whatever tools they need to get the job done, and sometimes that's a MF camera. Most actual professionals wouldn't think twice about buying this or say a $10,000 lens if actually facilitated their work. It all depends on the job.

Also your advice for being a photographer is useless. Beyond the basics, knowing how to use a camera is largely irrelevant, unless you're a technician. What you really need to learn is how to (1) compose a shot and (2) effectively communicate whatever it is you're recording to the viewer. The former covers the art or aesthetics and the latter covers the practical aspects. Often the two are closely intertwined.

Shanti Dope, 24 May 2019I know all the complexities of processing power for large s... moreUnless you're using the gcam processing at the highest ISO(12800), it would barely make any difference because:
            - The sensor is simply humongous compared to the ones used on modern smartphones, and so is the amount of light captured by it. At lower ISO noise should be virtually impossible to notice because of the high sensitivity of the sensor. The dynamic range is extremely wide too, so there's absolutely no point of using any sort of stacking to increase DR even further.
            - On a sensor this large the disadvantages of using a multi-frame processing completely overwhelms the advantages. Ghosting, blurring, longer time taken for capturing a single image, worse battery life, you name it. It doesn't work as it does on a mobile phone at all.

They should reduce the price further. Its just not worth it even for Professionals like me.

The quality difference between FF and Medium format is way less now. Today, FF can still put out an almost noiseless, incredibly sharp photo in ISO 50, something like a medium format...
Of course, you can't use ISO 50 everywhere, but again, just to make sure that every casual click is a masterpiece, will you spend $10000? when FF cameras are around $2500?

For better results, I strongly recommend:-
              1. getting good, sharp lenses with a Full Frame cam, they work wonders,
              2. getting training and education to work with the camera better, Get to the full potential of your camera,

Shanti Dope, 24 May 2019This could take phenomenal images in Manual Mode, but I als... moreCameras dont need noght mode because :

                        1) (except Canon) all use In-Body Image Stabilization, which means the sensor is stabilized instaed of the lenses. Much more effective than OIS. Easier to use handheld

                        2) Midformat sensor has more than 1200mm2, while Pixel 3 has about 24mm2. More area , more light in. They do not need to go slower shitter like 1/2s.

Note7 owner, 24 May 2019Have you tried blending multiple photos of any large sensor... moreI know all the complexities of processing power for large sensors like these cameras, and I only said that I want to see them perform with Gcam software, not demanding them to do it actually.
And even if I do, I'd only suggest to do it when capturing in a controlled environment, where the whole scene can stay stationary for the whole image capturing timeframe, as it'll definitely take hours to fully get processed.

With much bigger aperture and much higher usable ISO, it's no match. Plus some come with 5 axis OIS, which means longer exposure pictures. Now imagine a medium format camera with 5-axis OIS. Forget Night Sight forever.
