Nokia did a lot of advertisements for lumia 800 all around the world!but the users bad experience on wp7 made the statistics against them! even none of the retailers interested to promote or sell lumia wp7 devices to custumors!this sales figures proves people want the user friendly os like android and those 1 million wp7 users will be returned to android again.

AnonD-27765, 26 Jan 2012The N8 sold 3 million units in a similar time frame last year.No doubt that N8 is a great performer but it was released in October and in wider markets last year while Lumia series went on sale in mid November and till December end, it was available only in 6 markets while many big markets missing. Its just now that Lumia series in available in bigger markets like India and US so next quarter results will reflect better picture. Here in India, Lumia 710 is now selling at around 15.5K, quite an affordable price for most of potential smartphone buyers and great deal considering hardware and features it has to offer. It will sell in million alone in India if price lowers further by 1.5 to 2K.

I agree with GSMArena. After all the hype, the heavy promotion, the price slash and the holiday season, the sales of the Nokia Lumia is disappointing.

What this "article" fails to mention is that they had a loss of 1 billion Euros from their navigation unit. Keep up the good work with WP7. Thank goodness Nokia gave up on Symbian. They would have been the next RIM if they kept it.

There is a strong need of third ecosystem for the competition and ultimately for a good of consumers and WP7 is shaping up so good that we should take all aspects into consideration instead of bashing everything related to it.

The wording and overall feel of this article is too suspicious and actual results are quite promising, Check the official Nokia press release and see figures. They have improved a lot on QoQ basis and most importantly, average sales price has started going up. Sign of Lumia series doing good job and that too when it was launched in very limited markets till end of Q4.

If Nokia had gone with Android I would still be a loyal fan. CEO doesn't have a clue what customers want.

Max, 26 Jan 2012Y dont you open your website and start publishing actually.... moreI do actually own an run my own site, but it is based on pure information and selling reports to clients. I'm not in the business of news, opinions or reviews. However, it is important for me to follow news and trends, hence I visit sites like these.

Seeing as my business model basically revolves around unbiased factual information, it personally "gets me" to see unfair distortion of the truth. Given my job involves reading a lot of such information, sometimes I get annoyed enough to comment.

I actually have a lot of critical things to say about Nokia and WP7.. but I believe in competition! For that reason I want iOS, Android, WP and BB10 to all succeed (I don't believe there is room for more than 3 or 4 players). iOS and Android can take a negative review - but WP and BB10 need to be given a chance! This article struck me as the typical 'doom & gloom' Nokia report, which doesn't help Nokia compete, and ends up hurting overall competition and innovation.

                      I hope you understand...
