To be honest i am sure soon or later in future we will create spacecrafts capable of warp speeds. In other words much faster than speed of light.

Anonymous, 27 May 2019Kirin 985 is going to be beastKirin has never been a beast. It's always trailing in the competition of the same period. It doesn't have any custom design and everything is stock (well, minus that NPU maybe). It's bad in thermal management though excels in battery life (part of the OS work as well). It can't even put the same number of GPU cores as Exynos counterpart, showing a space management problem.

They better stop supplying Huawei or they will lose all US orders.

Anonymous, 27 May 2019As good? Are you talking about performance? Because pergorm... morePerformance and Power drain are greatly affected by the lithography, but the biggest effect comes from the actual architecture (and software!).

No, I was talking about the density when comparing that Intel 32nm to the TSMC 20nm die. I just want people to not be NOT tricked by the marketing names, I want them to know these wafer fabrications are more complex than a simple number.

Love the Community, 27 May 2019Sure, Huawei still got the CPU but does TSMC make GPU? Wel... moreSorry but do you know anything about this matter? Huawei specifically, the kirin SoC's that they develop and then produced by TSMC, they use CPU and GPU designs from ARM. Some other companies take those designs and improve upon them(mostly the CPU). I don't know if they can make from scratch their own ARM architecture cause of the ban, but even if they could make their own from scratch, I don't think it will be good. Maybe the only option is to change to some other RISC architecture!
